Energetics for Hydrogen Atom Transfer by Ketyl Radicals: Is Thermodynamics on Your Side?
The classic hydrogen atom transfer from the 1900 Ciamician paper and its enthalpic changes illustrate ketyl thermodynamics. ABSTRACT Ketyl radicals play a key role in various reaction mechanisms, where their ability to donate hydrogen atoms governs numerous processes, ranging from photoredox catalysis to biological mechanisms and the synthesis of metal

ABSTRACT Background Frailty is highly prevalent among recently hospitalized adults and is associated with functional decline, dependency, and increased mortality. Although conventional physiotherapy is routinely applied in transitional care settings, its effectiveness may be limited in frail individuals with low tolerance to exercise.

ABSTRACT Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) catheter placement is known to have a high readmission rate. This work focuses on monitoring the change in readmission rate after a new clinical paradigm for post‐procedural care is implemented for the PTBD procedures.

Anisotropic Cellular Forces Drive Hexagonal‐to‐Tetragonal Tiling Transitions in the Drosophila Eye
ABSTRACT Tile patterns are fundamental organizational principles of multicellular epithelial tissues. The Drosophila compound eye provides a striking example, in which ommatidia are arranged in a highly regular hexagonal lattice, while tetragonal patterns emerge in specific small‐eye mutants.

Abstract Background Evidence regarding the risk of new‐onset myasthenia gravis (MG) following statin therapy initiation is limited. Objectives To investigate this potential adverse effect using multinational real‐world population‐based data. Methods A self‐controlled case series (SCCS) study was conducted using electronic medical records and claims ...

A Tracer Diffusion Study of Diverse Photo‐Ionic Phenomena in Strontium Titanate
Two strong interfacial photo‐ionic effects are demonstrated for the model system SrTiO3 through the application of isotope exchange experiments: UV illumination is found to enhance the oxygen surface exchange coefficient by several orders of magnitude and to depress the surface space‐charge potential substantially.
