MANETs have two characteristics that make traditional routing protocols cannot be applied in a straightforward manner to achieve their objectives: firstly, the lack of a default infrastructure; secondly, the variability of this infrastructure once the nodes forming the network move themselves and vary their relative position to the other nodes.

In mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), nodes have to cooperate in order to accomplish routing tasks. Nevertheless, they are generally composed of limited resources and may behave in a selfish way. In this paper, we propose a trust model for reactive routing in MANETs.

Modified DSR, an energy conserving approach to DSR protocol in MANET
2014 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing, 2014MANET is a type of infrastructure less wireless communication network/system that can be set up at anytime, anywhere. In MANET each and every process consumes power. Power consumption is one of the most crucial design concerns in Mobile Ad-hoc networks as the nodes in MANET are battery limited.

A validation model for the DSR protocol
24th International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems Workshops, 2004. Proceedings., 2004We present a validation model for the dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol. This model includes a formal specification of the protocol and a set of scenarios. The scenarios test the conformance of a given implementation to some targeted system functionalities. The DSR protocol has been specified following the IETF draft [D.B. Johnson, et al., (2003)].
