Stability of dark solitons in a Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in an optical lattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We investigate the stability of dark solitons (DSs) in an effectively one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate in the presence of the magnetic parabolic trap and an optical lattice (OL).

Maternal Preconception Antibiotic Exposure Disrupts Microbial Succession: A Transgenerational Risk for Offspring Gut Mucosal Immaturity and Colitis Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and

Unusual spin dynamics in topological insulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The dynamic spin susceptibility (DSS) has a ubiquitous Lorentzian form in conventional materials with weak spin orbit coupling, whose spectral width characterizes the spin relaxation rate.

Gemella morbillorum Promotes Colorectal Carcinogenesis: LPBDCP‐Mediated Invasion Activates Ras Signaling and Destabilizes p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

Polymer Matrix‐Based 3D Culture Significantly Enhances the Differentiation and Immunomodulatory Functions of Human Adipose‐Derived Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 3D culture of human adipose‐derived stem cells (hADSCs) on a crosslinked cyclosiloxane‐based poly‐Z matrix platform enables the formation of spheroid structures enriched with extracellular matrix (ECM). These ECM‐enriched hADSC spheroids cultured on poly‐Z exhibit enhanced differentiation potential, immunomodulatory capacity, and in vivo ...

A Microbial Lipid‐ATP Synthase Axis Fuels NK Cell Antitumor Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the mechanism by which gut microbiota‐derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) regulate NK cell antitumor activity. B. intestinalis is identified to decrease extra‐intestinal tumor growth via its OMVs enriched in sphingosine (SP).
