Effect of Postweld Heat Treatment on Laser‐Welded Duplex Stainless Steel: Crystallographic Patterns and Fatigue Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Laser welding of duplex stainless steel disrupts phase balance, promotes nitride precipitation, and reduces fatigue resistance. Postweld heat treatment restores austenite and dissolves nitrides, but the resulting crystallography and phase morphology still impair fatigue performance.

Experimental assessment of large mammal population estimates from airborne thermal videography

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Wildlife resource management requires reliable, fast, and affordable methods of surveying wildlife populations to develop and adaptively adjust policies. Thermal video from drones can yield high rates of detection over large areas with relative speed and safety.

Delineating seasonal shifts in reindeer habitat and diet selection by integrating GPS telemetry and stable isotope analysis

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Seasonal changes shape herbivore behaviour by altering forage availability and habitat conditions; however, few studies integrate diet and habitat selection data across temporal scales. This study uses seasonality as a unifying framework to combine fine‐scale GPS‐based habitat selection data with broader‐scale dietary information from stable isotope ...

Comparison of HILDA Survey Estimates With the 2006–2021 Censuses

open access: yesAustralian Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Issue The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey has provided researchers and policymakers with invaluable insights into Australian life for more than two decades. Nevertheless, nonresponse, attrition and shifts in population coverage can affect how representative the sample is over time.
