Aqueous synthesis of a small-molecule lanthanide chelator amenable to copper-free click chemistry.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The lanthanides (Ln3+), or rare earth elements, have proven to be useful tools for biomolecular NMR, X-ray crystallographic, and fluorescence analyses due to their unique 4f orbitals.

Toward Personalized Theranostics: A Modular PET Platform for Antibody‐Based Imaging and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This modular, site‐specific antibody platform enables customizable conjugates for PET imaging and therapy. Interchangeable payloads – including radiometals, cytotoxics, and fluorophores – support adaptable, multimodal applications with limited off‐target effects. In vivo, the DFO/DOTAGA bischelate immunoconjugate provided clear tumor delineation in PET/

Molecular theranostics: principles, challenges and controversies

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 156-164, March 2025.
Molecular theranostics offers a powerful tool to drive precision medicine in nuclear oncology. While theranostics is not a new principle in nuclear medicine, recent advances in instrumentation and radiopharmacy have driven a reinvigoration and a broader suite of applications.

Facile Synthesis of Gd-Functionalized Gold Nanoclusters as Potential MRI/CT Contrast Agents

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2016
Multi-modal imaging plays a key role in the earlier detection of disease. In this work, a facile bioinspired method was developed to synthesize Gd-functionalized gold nanoclusters (Gd-Au NCs). The Gd-Au NCs exhibit a uniform size, with an average size of

Is DTPA a good competing chelating agent for Th(IV) in human serum and suitable in targeted alpha therapy? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inorganic Biochemistry, 2012
The interaction between thorium and human serum components was studied using difference ultraviolet spectroscopy (DUS), ultrafiltration and high-pressure-anion exchange chromatography (HPAEC) with external inductively conducted plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis.

Impact of Chelators on FAC Following Interaction With NaOCl: A Focused Evidence Synthesis Based on a Systematic Search

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This systematic review following PRISMA guidelines evaluated the effects of endodontic chelators on free available chlorine (FAC) in sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), with emphasis on the influence of concentration, contact time, temperature, and pH. Risk of bias was assessed using the Quality Assessment Tool for In Vitro Studies (QUIN).

Using Manganese‐Enhanced DCE‐MRI to Assess Blood‐Cerebrospinal Fluid Barrier Transport

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 5, Page 2083-2091, November 2026.
ABSTRACT PurposeWe developed a dynamic, heavily T2‐weighted (hT2w) FLAIR protocol to resolve acute Mn2+ transport kinetics, as a proxy for Ca2+, across the choroid plexus (ChP)—cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) interface, in vivo. By quantifying intercompartmental Mn2+ dynamics, and comparing these with Gd‐DOTA, we sought to characterize blood‐CSF‐barrier ...
