Dual Polarization Gyro

1982
This paper presents a new fiber optic gyro configuration that is designed to provide independence from the principal bias errors due to the phase modulator. The configuration operates with optimum Π/2 phase shift for gyro sensitivity, 2x increase in scale factor and has been experimentally shown to provide a lOx improvement in immunity to modulator ...

Dual polar spaces

2016
In this chapter, we study dual polar spaces. These are certain point-line geometries that are closely related to polar spaces. We study several properties of these geometries and describe several families. Dual polar spaces are examples of near polygons.

The dual polarization of an abelian variety

Archiv der Mathematik, 1999
Let \(X\) denote a polarized abelian variety of dimension \(g\) over the complex field \(\mathbb C\) and let \(L\) be an ample line bundle such that \(H=c_1(L)\in H^2(X,\mathbb Z)\) is the given polarization on \(X\), having degree \(d=h^0(L)\). We denote by \(\varphi_L:X\to\widehat X\) the isogeny induced by \(L\).

Dual-Polarized SAR and Stokes Parameters

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2006
For a given transmission polarization, the four-element Stokes vector captures all of the information inherent to the dual-polarized backscattered signals. Stokes parameters are linear combinations of the like-polarized power, the cross-polarized power, and the cross product between the complex image amplitudes in the two receive channels.

Dual polarized transmitarray lens

The 8th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2014), 2014
A new dual polarization lens working at the frequency of 30GHz has been designed and simulated. The design of the unit cell is based on a structure of four stacked patches coupled by a symmetric cross that achieves a 360-degree phase-shift for both polarizations by varying a different dimension of the patches for each one.

Dual-polarized ring lasers

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1977
Simultaneous laser oscillation of four nondegenerate polarization and propagation direction eigenstates of a single TEM 00 mode was observed in a ring laser cavity. The observed polarization and frequency properties of the ring laser were analyzed in terms of the Jones matrix calculus.

The Elephant in Dual-Polarized Imaging Radar

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006
The elephant-in-the-room: It's so obvious, why didn't we see it before? In the context of "dual-polarized radar", especially Earth-observing synthetic aperture radar, the elephant is simply the relative phase between the two image outputs of a "dual-polarized" SAR.
