Chill Radar Dual Polarization

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006
The CHILL radar was originally designed as dual polarization radar. It was put into operation in late 1971. The original concept was a dual frequency X-band and S-band system. In 1972, the idea of using it as polarization radar was suggested by Drs. Tom Seliga and Viswanathan Bringi.

Dual-Polarization Wideband Sub-6 GHz Suspended Patch Antenna for 5G Base Station

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2020
This letter presents a simple, compact, low-cost, low-profile, dual-polarization, suspended patch antenna design to operate in 3.3−3.8 GHz band for 5G base stations.

Dual polarized transmitarray lens

The 8th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2014), 2014
A new dual polarization lens working at the frequency of 30GHz has been designed and simulated. The design of the unit cell is based on a structure of four stacked patches coupled by a symmetric cross that achieves a 360-degree phase-shift for both polarizations by varying a different dimension of the patches for each one.

Microstrip antenna loaded with focusing metasurface for high-gain dual-polarization and bidirectional radiation

Journal of Applied Physics
In this paper, we propose a microstrip antenna that incorporates a dual-polarization and bidirectional focusing metasurface (MS) for achieving high-gain transmission in circular polarization (CP) and reflection in linear polarization (LP) radiation ...

Ultrahigh Extinction Ratio Topological Polarization Beam Splitter Based on Dual‐Polarization Second‐Order Topological Photonic Crystals

Advanced Quantum Technologies
A novel configuration of dual‐polarization second‐order topological photonic crystal (SOTPC) is presented, which is constructed by drilling 8‐shaped air holes on the dielectric background, and propose a scheme to achieve a wide common bandgap within this

Dual Polarization MIMO Antenna for 5G Mobile Phone Applications

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2020
A dual-polarization microstrip multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for 5G mobile phone applications is proposed in this communication. Eight differentially fed microstrip antenna elements are arranged on the back cover of a mobile phone.

Dual-polarized broadband dipole

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2003
A dual-polarized, broadband antenna made up of two single-polarized dipoles is presented. The antenna is mounted on a ground plane to produce a low-profile structure. Two fractal-like elements are used, but a very wide bandwidth is only achieved by making adjustments to the shape to reduce the coupling between the two polarizations.

Jointly Shaped Dual Polarization Systems

Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2021, 2021
We present a probabilistic shaping algorithm whereby both polarization streams of a dual-polarized system are shaped together. The proposed method offers 0.2-0.92 dB gains over existing shaping schemes for the same block-length.

Dual-Polarization Frequency-Selective Rasorber With Independently Controlled Dual-Band Transmission Response

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2020
This letter presents a dual-polarization frequency-selective rasorber (FSR) with independently controlled dual-band transmission response. The rasorber consists of a lossy layer and a lossless layer. These two layers are separated by an air gap.
