Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Mesh antennas for dual polarization

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2001
Three mesh antennas, all having an extremely small antenna height of approximately 0.06 wavelength above a ground plane, are presented. First, a mesh antenna excited with a balanced feed is analyzed. It is revealed that the mesh antenna radiates a linearly polarized wave with no cross-polarization component in the principal planes.

Smart, Bio‐Inspired Polymers and Bio‐Based Molecules Modified by Zwitterionic Motifs to Design Next‐Generation Materials for Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

A Smart Bio‐Battery Facilitates Diabetic Bone Defect Repair Via Inducing Macrophage Reprogramming and Synergistically Modulating Bone Remodeling Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel implantable bio‐battery, GF‐OsG, tailored for diabetic bone repair. GF‐OsG generates microcurrents in high‐glucose conditions to enhance vascularization, shift macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and regulate immune responses.

Spleen‐Targeting Biomimetic Hybrid Nanocarriers for Systemic Immune Reprogramming in Colitis: RBC Membrane Vesicle‐Fused Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spleen‐targeting hybrid nanoplatform (RBCMV‐LNP‐RP) harnessing erythrophagocytosis mimics senescent red blood cell clearance to achieve spleen‐specific delivery of rapamycin. This biomimetic system enables selective accumulation in splenic macrophages, orchestrating systemic immune reprogramming and promoting mucosal healing in an inflammatory bowel ...

On isometric full embeddings of symplectic dual polar spaces into Hermitian dual polar spaces

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2009
Let \({\mathbb K}'\), \({\mathbb K}\) be (finite or infinite) fields such that \({\mathbb K}'\) is a quadratic Galois extension of \({\mathbb K}\) and let \(\theta\) denote the unique nontrivial element in \(\text{Gal}({\mathbb K}'/{\mathbb K})\). The dual polar space \(DW(2n-1,{\mathbb K})\), \(n\geq\,2\), has up to equivalence a unique isometric full

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.
