Design Methodology Based on Dual Control of a Resonant Dual Active Bridge Converter for Electric Vehicle Battery Charging

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2022
In this paper, a detailed design methodology of a Resonant Dual Active Bridge (R-DAB) converter is proposed for battery charging applications. The converter design methodology is tailored to the charging profile of a Li-ion battery and is based on unique

Three-phase dual active bridge converter design considerations

IECON 2017 - 43rd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2017
In three-phase dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter, the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) range, DC capacitor ripple current and converter efficiency are significantly impacted by the selectable system parameters, including transformer turn ratio n, switching frequency f and leakage inductance L k .

Control of active component of current in dual active bridge converter

2018 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2018
The paper presents a control strategy based on improved first harmonic approximation model of the single-phase dual active bridge (DAB) converter. The model consists of three state-variables: output DC voltage and two orthogonal components of first harmonic of transformer current, equivalent to active and circulating powers.

Circulating current mitigation in Dual Active Bridge converter

2015 IEEE 13th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference and 1st Southern Power Electronics Conference (COBEP/SPEC), 2015
This work brings forward a new methodology to maximize the efficiency of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter for its several patterns of operation. This goal is reached by the mitigation of its processed circulating energy. It is proposed a figure of merit which relates the average input current and the RMS current of the power transfer inductor, and an

Dual active bridge converter and its control

Isolated bidirectional DC–DC (IBDC) converters are needed in a wide range of applications including DC microgrids, electric vehicles, and energy storage devices. Among various IBDC topologies, the dual active bridge (DAB) converter is one of the most promising solutions owing to its simple and symmetric structure, the capability of zero-voltage ...

An improved dual active bridge DC/DC converter

2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002
This paper proposes a novel control scheme for a dual active bridge (DAB) DC/DC converter. The proposed control scheme eliminates the large feedback energy problem existing in previous DAB converters and achieves ZVZCS of all switches. The efficiency and output capacitor current ripple are improved.

An Improvised Modulation and Control Approach for Dual Active Bridge DC–DC Converter System

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
Aimed at the control and modulation of dual active bridge bidirectional dc (DAB-BIDC) converter, an unconventional approach is applied to explore its effect in symmetrical wave-based isolated dc–dc converters.
