Hydrogen for dual fuel engine operation
Abstract In this investigation, an attempt was made to burn hydrogen in compression ignition engines that were operated on a dual fuel principle. Hydrogen was supplied along with intake air in small proportions and ignition was initiated by injecting diesel fuel in the conventional manner.

Environmental indicators of dual-fuel hydrogen engine
Hydrogen is considered as a promising gas engine fuel for diesel engines. The problems that occur when converting engines to work on hydrogen are presented. Reliable ignition of hydrogen in the engine is achieved by implementing a two-fuel cycle. In this case, hydrogen ignites from the diesel fuel combustion.

Dual fuel diesel engine operation using LPG [PDF]
Diesel engine fuelling with LPG represents a good solution to reduce the pollutant emissions and to improve its energetic performances. The high autoignition endurance of LPG requires specialized fuelling methods. From all possible LPG fuelling methods the authors chose the diesel-gas method because of the following reasons: is easy to be implemented ...

Innovative Survey on Dual Fuel Engine with Fuel Essences [PDF]
Alternative fuels have been getting more attention as concerns escalate over exhaust pollutant emissions produced by internal combustion engines, higher fuel costs, and the depletion of crude oil. Various solutions have been proposed, including utilizing alternative fuels as a dedicated fuel in spark ignited engines, diesel pilot ignition engines, gas ...

Combined Numerical-experimental Study of Dual Fuel Diesel Engine
In the present paper the authors discuss the effect of different fuel ratios on the performance and emission levels of a common rail diesel engine supplied with natural gas and diesel oil. Dual fuel operation is characterized by a diesel pilot injection to start combustion in an intake port premixed NG/air mixture. The combined numerical - experimental
