Dual Mobility in Total Hip Arthroplasty

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 2014
Dual-mobility articulations have shown promising results. Postoperative instability remains the most common reason for revision of a total hip arthroplasty (THA). Dual-mobility cups have been shown to decrease the rate of dislocation in primary THA and have been used to treat and prevent instability in revision THA.

Mobility enhancement design and control for a Dual-Wheel Dual-Armed Mobile Manipulator

2015 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO), 2015
Recently domestic Wheeled Mobile Robot(WMR) such as "iRobot Roomba Vacuum Cleaning Robot" is becoming popular. However, such WMR has poor mobility to surmount the obstacles like the door sill, which greatly limits its functionality. Instead of using complex wheel mechanisms, another possible solution is to use external manipulator.

Dual Stewart platform mobility simulator

The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005
A robotic mobility simulator is being developed to allow training on various hapticly simulated surfaces while still being in the safe clinical environment. The simulator is integrated with a rich virtual environment displayed in front of the patient. The system uses two Stewart platform robots to render the walking surface geometry and condition.

Dual-mobility bearings: a review of the literature

Expert Review of Medical Devices, 2012
Dislocation after total hip arthroplasty remains a major problem and hip instability is the most common reason for revision. These complications are costly to both patients and the healthcare system, and efforts to reduce them have had varied degrees of success.

Dual rate mobile data system

[1992 Proceedings] Vehicular Technology Society 42nd VTS Conference - Frontiers of Technology, 2003
A mobile data system that uses two significantly different data rates on the air interface is described. In a cellular system it is the conditions prevailing for a mobile terminal at the cell border that is setting the limit for a reasonable data rate. However, there are conditions in the cell, e.g.

Outcomes of dual mobility components in total hip arthroplasty

open access: yesBone and Joint Journal, 2018
Aims Instability remains a challenging problem in both primary and revision total hip arthroplasty (THA). Dual mobility components confer increased stability, but there are concerns about the unique complications associated with these designs, as well as

Evolution and New Generation of Dual Mobility Cups

Orthopedics, 2023
Although total hip arthroplasty (THA) is considered a successful procedure, hip dislocation remains the main cause of early failure. Dual mobility cups (DMCs) have been shown to significantly reduce the dislocation rate in both primary and revision THAs. During the past several decades, DMCs have evolved in design and fixation interface.

Dual-Polarized RIS-Assisted Mobile Communications

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2022
Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has drawn worldwide attention because of its attractive capability to improve the electromagnetic propagation environment and surprising advantages of low cost and low power consumption. Recently, RIS is further advanced to realize the independent control of two orthogonal polarizations in real time.

Providing transparent internet mobility for dual-interfaced mobile devices

International Journal of Wireless and Mobile Computing, 2008
Ubiquitous networking is definitely real to the mobile users; however, transparent mobility is certainly a challenge. Seamless roaming in hybrid and integrated environments demands a seamless intra-network as well as inter-network handoff mechanism for minimising any service disruption to on-going flows during switchovers.

Dislocation in Single-Mobility Versus Dual-Mobility Trapezometacarpal Joint Prostheses

HAND, 2022
Background: The purpose of this study was to analyze postoperative dislocation rates in single-mobility (Ivory) versus dual-mobility (Moovis) trapezometacarpal (TMC) joint prostheses. Second, we report complications requiring additional surgery in these 2 types of prostheses.
