Artificial Intelligence‐Assisted Workflow for Transmission Electron Microscopy: From Data Analysis Automation to Materials Knowledge Unveiling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
AI‐Assisted Workflow for (Scanning) Transmission Electron Microscopy: From Data Analysis Automation to Materials Knowledge Unveiling. Abstract (Scanning) transmission electron microscopy ((S)TEM) has significantly advanced materials science but faces challenges in correlating precise atomic structure information with the functional properties of ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Solution of the nonlinear diffusion equation using the dual reciprocity boundary element method and the relaxation type time integration scheme

open access: yes, 2005
We present the combined application of the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) and the finite difference method (FDM) with a relaxation parameter to the nonlinear diffusion equation: partial derivative u/partial derivative t = V del(2)u + p ...

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

Reciprocity as an Ever-Present Dual Property of Everything

open access: yesJournal of Modern Physics, 2020
Reciprocity may be understood as relation of action and reaction in the sense of Hegel’s philosophical definition. Quoting Kant, freedom and ethical necessities are reciprocally limited. In this contribution, a more mathematical than philosophical reflection about reciprocity as an ever-present dual property of everything was given.

Dual-Subpopulation as reciprocal optional external archives for differential evolution

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2019
Differential Evolution (DE) is powerful for global optimization problems. Among DE algorithms, JADE and its variants, whose mutation strategy is DE/current-to-pbest/1 with optional archive, have good performance. A significant feature of the above mutation strategy is that one individual for difference operation comes from the union of the optional ...

Dual reciprocity method for steady diffusion-convection problems

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, steady diffusion-convection problems with analytical solutions are considered. A numerical method known as "Dual Reciprocity Method (DRM)" is tested to obtain numerical solutions of the problems.

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Emotion Regulation and Spousal Undermining: Evidence of a Reciprocity Effect in Dual-Career Couples

open access: yes, 2016
Does emotion regulation work at home? Incorporating family systems theoretical logic, this paper examines how emotion regulation influences the incidence and reciprocity of social undermining behavior within dual-career couples.

Dual Reciprocity Singular Hybrid Boundary Node Method for Solving Inhomogeneous Equations

open access: yes, 2009
Based on the radial basis function (RBF) and the singular hybrid boundary node method (SHBNM), this paper presents an inherent meshless, boundary-only technique, which names dual reciprocity singular hybrid boundary node method (DRSHBNM), for numerical ...
