Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Efficient dual-scale generalized Radon-Fourier transform detector family for long time coherent integration [PDF]

open access: yes
Long Time Coherent Integration (LTCI) aims to accumulate target energy through long time integration, which is an effective method for the detection of a weak target.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Effect of dual-scale precipitates on the deformation behavior of AZ41 magnesium alloy via wire-arc directed energy deposition

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
With the need for energy saving and emission reduction, the process of wire arc directed energy deposition (WADED) of large-scale, high-precision Mg alloy parts is becoming more widely recognized.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Dual inflation and bounce cosmologies interpretation of pulsar timing array data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We explore a dual scenario of generalized inflation and bounce cosmologies, producing a scale-invariant curvature perturbation spectrum. Bayesian analysis with pulsar timing array data identifies, for the first time, viable regions from inflation and ...

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Dual-plane PIV investigation of acoustically excited jets in a swirl nozzle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
© Author(s) 2016.A novel dual-plane dye laser particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique used to analyze helicity and energy dissipation in an unexcited turbulent swirling jet of pressurized cold air has established that regions within the flow field of ...

Supervised aerobic-strength exercise reduces postural sway and improves dual-task gait in Parkinson’s disease

open access: yesScientific Reports
Parkinson’s disease (PD) impairs balance and gait, increases fall risk, and reduces quality of life. While levodopa remains the primary treatment, it has limited effects on postural instability. Exercise training offers complementary benefits. This study
