A Versatile SPH Approach for Modelling Very Flexible and Modularized Floating Structures in Moored Configurations

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
A variety of Offshore Floating Photovoltaics (OFPVs) applications rely on the capacity of their floating support structures displacing in the shape of surface waves to reduce extreme wave-induced loads exerted on their floating-mooring system.

DualSPHysics: towards high performance computing using SPH technique

open access: yes, 2014

DURCWAVE: deliverable 1.2 (DualSPHysics validation vs experimental results for WSI problems)

open access: yes, 2021
An experimental campaign to study the overtopping flow properties on sea dikes has been carried out within the framework of the MSCA-IF DURCWAVE. Data of overtopping volumes and discharges have been employed to validate the SPH-based meshless and open-source DualSPHysics solver. Besides, data from other experimental campaigns (e.g.

Wave propagation over a submerged bar: benchmarking of VoF, sigma transformation, and SPH numerical models against physical wave flume tests

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Accurate prediction of wave transformation is key in the design of coastal and nearshore structures which typically depends on numerical models. Turbulent and rotational effects call for the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solvers of which a ...

SPH modelling of tsunami-induced bore and structure interaction using DualSPHysics

open access: yes, 2015
A series of 3-D smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) models with a domain in the form of a water tank were undertaken to simulate tsunami-induced bore impact on a discrete onshore structure on a dry bed. The tsunami-like waves were represented by solitary waves with different characteristics generated by the numerical paddle wavemaker.
