Sialography and Surface Anatomy of the Parotid Duct
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1960The many variations in shape and extent of the parotid gland are well known. The parotid gland is larger than indicated in textbooks. 14 Not only does this structure vary in different persons, but also on the two sides of the same person. 36 Hetzar's 15 finding of differences of the parotid glands in the two sexes and in persons of different ...

CT-anatomy of the nasolacrimal sac and duct
Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 1997Recent developments in ophthalmology such as balloon dilatation, stent implantation, laser therapy and endoscopy of the lacrimal drainage system raise the need for a detailed anatomical knowledge of this system. In this study morphometric measurements of the lacrimal drainage system were performed with thin-section axial computed tomography (CT ...

One duct, two orifices, no names! the anatomy of the biliary cystic duct
Clinical Anatomy, 2018The biliary cystic duct (CD) connects the gallbladder to the extra‐hepatic bile duct, and the point at which it does this delineates the division between the common hepatic duct and the common bile duct. Its clinical relevance in disease, and importance during interventions relating to the gallbladder mean that its normal and variant anatomy has been ...

Surgical Anatomy of the Biliary Ducts
1997Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for biliary tract diseases have been improving; many surgeons have used new equipment in endoscopic biliary surgery and employed aggressive surgical approaches to difficult biliary cancer such as hilar cholangiocar- cinoma, with varying Degrees of success (Tio et al. 1991; VErbeek et al. 1992; NImura et al.

Cystic duct anatomy: an endoscopic perspective.
The American journal of gastroenterology, 1994Knowledge of the junction of the cystic and common hepatic duct is essential for endoscopic management of biliary tract disease. The cystic and common hepatic ducts were evaluated retrospectively in cholangiograms obtained for a variety of indications in 524 persons. The cysticohepatic junction was adequately visualized in 70%.

Anatomy of the gallbladder and bile ducts
Surgery (Oxford), 2011Abstract A detailed knowledge of the gallbladder and bile ducts (together with their anatomical variations) and related blood supply are essential in the safe performance of both open and laparoscopic cholecystectomy as well as the interpretation of radiological and ultrasound images of these structures. These topics are described and illustrated.
