Ductile-Brittle Transition in Offshore Steel

open access: yes, 2017
The main objective of this thesis was to investigate experimentally and numerically the main effects and interaction effects of temperature, strain rate and stress triaxiality on an offshore X65 steel. During preliminary simulations smooth test specimens, and specimens with different round and sharp notches, were modelled using Abaqus/Standard and ...

Valorization of Post‐Consumer Waste From Metallized Flexible Packaging and Industrial EPM Waste: Development of Sustainable Composites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Post‐consumer metallized flexible packaging waste and industrial EPM waste are transformed into sustainable composites through mechanical recycling. The incorporation of 30 wt% EPM provides the most favorable balance between stiffness, ductility, and impact resistance, achieving 53.36 kJ/m2.

Process Optimization of Solution Blow Spinning for Poly (N‐Isopropylacrylamide) Fibers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Solution blow spinning has emerged as a safe and scalable technique for fabricating thermoresponsive PNIPAM fibers. The influence of key parameters on jet stability and fiber uniformity is determined through both rheological analysis and statistical process optimization. A Box–Behnken design reveals an optimized window for producing PNIPAM fibers below

Exploration of Physical Properties of Sodium‐Based Perovskite Hydrides ANaH3 (A = Hf, Nb, Pd, Ru) for Hydrogen Storage Applications: First Principles Study

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
First‐principles calculations reveal that ANaH3 (where A = Hf, Nb, Pd, Ru) perovskite hydrides combine structural stability, favorable electronic properties, and low hydrogen desorption temperatures (280–369 K). Strong metal–hydrogen interactions and reversible hydrogen storage characteristics identify these materials as promising candidates for ...
