Impact of Model Parameterisation and Variance Component Estimates on Genomic Predictions of Carcass Traits in Montana Composite Cattle

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 3, Page 431-442, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the influence of variance component (VC) estimates, obtained from different models and two relationship matrices, pedigree‐based (BLUP) and genomic information‐based (ssGBLUP), on genomic predictions of carcass traits in Montana composite cattle.

Non-linear dynamic analysis of geared systems, part 2 [PDF]

open access: yes
A good understanding of the steady state dynamic behavior of a geared system is required in order to design reliable and quiet transmissions. This study focuses on a system containing a spur gear pair with backlash and periodically time-varying mesh ...

Periodic Duffing equations with delay

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
The paper is devoted to find sufficient conditions for the existence of a \(T\)-periodic solution for the Duffing equation with delay \[ x''(t)+cx'(t)+g(t-\tau, x(t-\tau), x'(t-\tau))=p(t), \] where \(c\in \mathbb{R}\), \(g\) is a continuous function and \(T\)-periodic in its first argument, and \(p\) is \(T\)-periodic.

Laboratory Experiments on Savannah and European Boreal Forest Fire Emissions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Landscape fire is among the largest sources of aerosols and trace gases globally. However, the emissions are highly variable and strongly affected by the type of biomass and combustion characteristics. We investigated the effect of combustion characteristics on the burning emissions from three biomass types: woody plants and grasses from ...

Transition through resonance in linear and nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
In this work an asymptotic method known as the Krylov- Bogol iubov-Mit ropolsky (KBM) method is used to analyze linear and nonlinear systems. A system of first order equations for amplitude and phase is deduced.

Boundedness of Solutions for Semilinear Duffing Equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1998
The paper concerns the semilinear Duffing equation \(x''(t)+\lambda^2x(t)+\phi(x(t))=e(t)\). Here, \(\phi(x)=o(x)\) as \(| x|\to+\infty\) and \(e\) is \(2\pi\)-periodic. For this equation, the main result states that all solutions are bounded and some solutions are quasi-periodic.

Aircraft interior noise reduction by alternate resonance tuning [PDF]

open access: yes
The focus is on a noise control method which considers aircraft fuselages lined with panels alternately tuned to frequencies above and below the frequency that must be attenuated.
