Properties of complex damping Helmholtz–Duffing oscillator arising in fluid mechanics
The current paper presents the first treatment to obtain the solution of a complex Helmholtz–Duffing oscillator. This model has described the elevation of the surface waves in fluid mechanics.

Effects of noise on the internal resonance of a nonlinear oscillator [PDF]
We numerically analyze the response to noise of a system formed by two coupled mechanical oscillators, one of them having Duffing and van der Pol nonlinearities, and being excited by a self-sustaining force proportional to its own velocity.

Two‐Dimensional Materials as a Multiproperty Sensing Platform
Various sensing modalities enabled and/or enhanced by two‐dimensional (2D) materials are reviewed. The domains considered for sensing include: 1) optoelectronics, 2) quantum defects, 3) scanning probe microscopy, 4) nanomechanics, and 5) bio‐ and chemosensing.

Statistical linearization based estimation of the peak response of nonlinear systems subject to the EC8 design spectrum [PDF]
A stochastic approach is proposed to obtain reliable estimates of the peak response of nonlinear systems to excitations specified via a response∕design seismic spectrum.

ABSTRACT An experimental campaign was undertaken to demonstrate the applicability of the Bouc–Wen hysteretic model to describe the hysteretic system of the recent Framatome dimple‐less spacer grid design for Pressurized Water Reactors. The experimental setup subjected a reduced‐length fuel rod, supported at both ends by dimple‐less grids, to forced ...

Replicate Periodic Windows in the Parameter Space of Driven Oscillators
In the bi-dimensional parameter space of driven oscillators, shrimp-shaped periodic windows are immersed in chaotic regions. For two of these oscillators, namely, Duffing and Josephson junction, we show that a weak harmonic perturbation replicates these ...

Parametric Excitation of a Ferrimagnetic Sphere Resonator
The hypothesis that disentanglement spontaneously occurs in quantum systems is experimentally tested using a ferromagnetic resonator. Predictions derived from the hypothesis, and from an alternative theoretical model, are compared with the measured response of the resonator to an externally applied driving.

Wada property in systems with delay
Delay differential equations take into account the transmission time of the information. These delayed signals may turn a predictable system into chaotic, with the usual fractalization of the phase space.

On Coupled Delayed Van der Pol-Duffing Oscillators [PDF]
We investigate the dynamics of a delay differential coupled Duffing-Van der Pol oscillator equation. Using the Lindstedt's method, we derive the in-phase mode solutions and then obtain the slow flow equations governing the stability of the in-phase mode by employing the two variable perturbation method.

Dual Variational Problems and Action Principles for Chen–Lee and Hopf–Langford Systems
ABSTRACT We describe the construction of dual variational principles and action functionals for nonlinear dynamical systems using a methodology based on the dual Lagrange multiplier formalism and a convex optimization approach, to derive families of dual actions that correspond to the given nonlinear ordinary differential system.
