Effects of noise on the internal resonance of a nonlinear oscillator [PDF]
We numerically analyze the response to noise of a system formed by two coupled mechanical oscillators, one of them having Duffing and van der Pol nonlinearities, and being excited by a self-sustaining force proportional to its own velocity.

Energy‐Associated Splitting Schemes for Closed Nonlinear Port‐Hamiltonian Systems
ABSTRACT We present splitting methods for port‐Hamiltonian (pH) systems, focusing on the preservation of their internal structure, in particular, the dissipation inequality. Classical high‐order splitting schemes possess negative step sizes, which might cause instabilities and the violation of the dissipation inequality.

Application of Lyapunov exponent algorithm in balise signal chaotic oscillator detection
To improve the detection accuracy of the balise uplink signal transmitted in a strong noise environment, we use chaotic oscillator to detect the balise uplink signal based on the characteristics of the chaotic system that is sensitive to initial ...

Encoding Cumulation to Learn Perturbative Nonlinear Oscillatory Dynamics
Weak nonlinearities critically shape the long term behavior of oscillatory systems but are difficult to identify from data. A data‐driven framework is introduced to infer governing equations of weakly nonlinear oscillators from sparse and noisy observations.

High-Intensity Discharge Lamp and Duffing Oscillator - Similarities and Differences
The processes inside the arc tube of high-intensity discharge lamps are investigated by finite element simulations. The behavior of the gas mixture inside the arc tube is governed by differential equations describing mass, energy and charge conservation ...

Parametric Excitation of a Ferrimagnetic Sphere Resonator
The hypothesis that disentanglement spontaneously occurs in quantum systems is experimentally tested using a ferromagnetic resonator. Predictions derived from the hypothesis, and from an alternative theoretical model, are compared with the measured response of the resonator to an externally applied driving.

ABSTRACT The Duffing oscillator is often considered as “the” prototype of a nonlinear oscillator as it exhibits many characteristic phenomena of nonlinear dynamics. One of these phenomena is the occurrence of multiple periodic solutions as considered here for the case of the harmonically excited slightly damped Duffing oscillator.

Replicate Periodic Windows in the Parameter Space of Driven Oscillators
In the bi-dimensional parameter space of driven oscillators, shrimp-shaped periodic windows are immersed in chaotic regions. For two of these oscillators, namely, Duffing and Josephson junction, we show that a weak harmonic perturbation replicates these ...

Dual Variational Problems and Action Principles for Chen–Lee and Hopf–Langford Systems
ABSTRACT We describe the construction of dual variational principles and action functionals for nonlinear dynamical systems using a methodology based on the dual Lagrange multiplier formalism and a convex optimization approach, to derive families of dual actions that correspond to the given nonlinear ordinary differential system.

2FSK Communication System Demodulation Algorithm for Novel Acoustically Excited SLF Antennas
There exist some problems for acoustically excited super low frequency(SLF) antennas, such as low transmission power and low received signal-to-noise ratio. In addition, it is difficult to design a narrow-band filter in traditional binary frequency-shift
