Numerical investigation of MHD flow with Soret and Dufour effect

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
This paper describes the flow due to an exponentially curved surface subject to Soret and Dufour effects. Nonlinear velocity is considered. Exponentially curved stretchable sheet induced the flow. Fluid is electrical conducting through constant applied magnetic field.

Mothering Through the Experiences of Homelessness With a Particular Focus on Child Separation in High‐Income Countries: A Scoping Review

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mothers who experience homelessness represent one of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups, often facing separation from their children as a consequence of housing instability and intersecting challenges. While there is a substantial body of research on parenting in the context of homelessness, little is known about the experience of ...

Effects of restoration practices on biodiversity in temperate and boreal forests

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Several restoration practices are used to mitigate and compensate for the negative effects of large‐scale forestry on biodiversity in temperate and boreal forests. A comprehensive synthesis of the benefits of these practices across taxa is missing. We conducted a systematic review and meta‐analysis on this topic.

Thermophoresis and Soret-Dufour on MHD mixed convection mass transfer over an inclined plate with non-uniform heat source/sink and chemical reaction

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2018
An analysis is presented to investigate thermophoresis and Soret-Dufour on MHD mixed convective heat and mass transfer of a semi-infinite permeable inclined flat plate in the presence of non uniform heat source/sink and chemical reaction.

Influence of Fluid-Structure Interaction on Microcantilever Vibrations: Applications to Rheological Fluid Measurement and Chemical Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
At the microscale, cantilever vibrations depend not only on the microstructure’s properties and geometry but also on the properties of the surrounding medium.

Macroscopic fluxes and local reciprocal relation in second-order stochastic processes far from equilibrium

open access: yes, 2015
Stochastic process is an essential tool for the investigation of the physical and life sciences at nanoscale. In the first-order stochastic processes widely used in chemistry and biology, only the flux of mass rather than that of heat can be well defined.

Spontaneous Rhythmic and Tool‐Assisted Drumming Across Variable Tempo and Technique in a Captive Chimpanzee

open access: yesEthology, EarlyView.
A captive chimpanzee named Toon performed an unusual long‐lasting drumming session using different implements (e.g., limbs and tools) and techniques (e.g., drumstick‐on‐drum). He drummed faster with limbs than with tools and during the climax than the introduction of his pant‐hoot displays.

Entropy Analysis in Double-Diffusive Convection in Nanofluids through Electro-Osmotically Induced Peristaltic Microchannel

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
A theoretical study is presented to examine entropy generation in double-diffusive convection in an Electro-osmotic flow (EOF) of nanofluids via a peristaltic microchannel.

Coffee berry borer triple-action integrated pest management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In coffee plantations, some of the coffee berry borer (#Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari#) females emerging from residual fruits survive by taking refuge in dry fruits remaining on the branches.

Combining δ2H and δ34S stable isotopes identifies diverse moult strategies in a short‐distance migratory bird

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Moult strategies in birds can vary considerably even within a single species, particularly in terms of where moulting takes place. Yet, the factors underlying this variation and its consistency across years and individuals remain poorly understood. One such strategy, moult migration, involves individuals moving to a specific moulting location amid ...
