“Is This Edible Anyway?” The Impact of Culture on the Evolution (and Devolution) of Mushroom Knowledge

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Mushrooms are a ubiquitous and essential component in our biological environment and have been of interest to humans around the globe for millennia. Knowledge about mushrooms represents a prime example of cumulative culture, one of the key processes in human evolution.

Soret and Dufour Effects on Free Convection Heat and Mass Transfer along a Horizontal Plate in Non-Darcy Porous Medium

open access: yes, 2015
The effect of Soret and Dufour parameters on the non-Darcy natural convection over a horizontal flat plate in saturated porous medium is studied using similarity technique. Forchheimer extension is considered in the flow equations.

Clinical descriptive and long‐term outcome of melanocytic uveal lesions in young dogs: 40 cases (45 eyes) including 13 cases of sector iridectomy

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 371-385, March 2025.
Abstract Purpose To describe the clinical features surgical technique, early and long‐term outcome with or without surgery, and histopathological findings of melanocytic anterior uveal lesions in young dogs. Methods Medical records of dogs at a guide dog facility removed from training due to a pigmented iris lesion were reviewed from 2014 to 2021 ...

Combining phenomic and genomic selection for pea breeding improvement

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is a strategic crop in the development of sustainable agriculture. However, the genetic gain remains limited despite advances in breeding. Genomic selection holds promise to accelerate varietal improvement, but its high implementation cost restricts its use in crops.

Thermal radiation and thermo-diffusion in Casson-ferrofluid over a magnetized porous surface: RSM analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
A wide variety of heat transfer applications employ ferrofluids. These include heat exchangers, materials research, and a host of other industries, such as food processing, solar trough collectors, and aerospace engineering.

Stagnation point flow of hyperbolic tangent fluid with Soret-Dufour effects

open access: yes, 2017
Combined effects of Soret (thermal-diffusion) and Dufour (diffusion-thermo) in MHD stagnation point flow of tangent hyperbolic fluid by a stretching sheet are discussed in the present article.

Engineering Murine Cross‐Reactivity Into an Affibody to Human Death Receptor 5

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 7, Page 1783-1798, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Interspecies cross‐reactive protein therapeutics that target conserved epitopes across species are critical for translational research. The present study showcases the engineering of an affibody molecule, originally discovered for binding to human death receptor 5 (hDR5) with 94 nM affinity, to simultaneously acquire cross‐reactivity to murine

Effectiveness of a Low‐Intensity Self‐Guided Psychoeducational Intervention for Individuals Waitlisted for Specialised Eating‐Disorder Treatment: A Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 1089-1098, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Gaining access to evidence‐informed treatment for eating disorders (EDs) is challenging, and this creates interest in the possible benefits of self‐help treatment methods. We investigated the effectiveness of receiving evidence‐informed self‐guided psychoeducation, delivered to individuals while on a waitlist for specialised ED care.

Spontaneous Rhythmic and Tool‐Assisted Drumming Across Variable Tempo and Technique in a Captive Chimpanzee

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 7, Page 498-509, July 2026.
A captive chimpanzee named Toon performed an unusual long‐lasting drumming session using different implements (e.g., limbs and tools) and techniques (e.g., drumstick‐on‐drum). He drummed faster with limbs than with tools and during the climax than the introduction of his pant‐hoot displays.
