Dufour effect in superionic copper selenide

Physics of the Solid State, 1998
The Dufour effect has been observed in the superionic conductor copper selenide, Cu2−xSe. This effect is the opposite of the Soret thermal diffusion effect which was previously only observed in gaseous and liquid systems.

Onset of convection in binary gas mixtures: Role of the Dufour effect

Physical Review A, 1992
The stability behavior of the conductive state of binary gas mixtures in the Rayleigh-B\'enard setup is significantly altered in comparison to binary liquid mixtures due to their different thermodynamic and transport properties. In particular, the Dufour effect influences dramatically the topology and the existence ranges of the oscillatory and ...

The influence of the soret and dufour effects on the diffusion of heat and moisture in solids

International Journal of Engineering Science, 1980
Abstract Phenomenological arguments leading to coupled equations governing simultaneous diffusion of moisture and heat in a solid are presented. The coefficients are related to basic thermodynamic properties of the solid, including the heat of transport associated with the Dufour effect. By Onsager's reciprocal relations, the reciprocal Soret effect,

Soret and Dufour effects on thermohaline convection in rotating fluids

Geophysical & Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics, 2016
Using linear and weakly nonlinear stability theory, the effects of Soret and Dufour parameters are investigated on thermohaline convection in a horizontal layer of rotating fluid, specifically the ocean. Thermohaline circulation is important in mixing processes and contributes to heat and mass transports and hence the earth’s climate.

Soret and Dufour Effects in a Non-Darcy Porous Medium

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2005
The effect of double dispersion on free convection heat and mass transfer from a vertical surface embedded in a non-Darcy electrically conducting fluid saturated porous medium with Soret and Dufour effects is studied using similarity solution technique. The heat and mass transfer coefficients are effected greatly due to these secondary effects and also

Soret‐Dufour effects in electroosmotic biorheological flow of Jeffrey fluid

Heat Transfer, 2020
AbstractThe Soret and Dufour cross‐diffusion on the electrokinetic flow of Jeffrey fluid augmented with peristalsis have been presented. The fundamental equations are employed to predict the mass distribution in the two‐dimensional asymmetric electroosmotic channel.
