Total Coloring of Dumbbell Maximal Planar Graphs
The Total Coloring Conjecture (TCC) states that every simple graph G is totally (Δ+2)-colorable, where Δ denotes the maximum degree of G. In this paper, we prove that TCC holds for dumbbell maximal planar graphs.

Germanene, a graphene like single layer structure of Ge, has been shown to be stable and recently grown on Pt and Au substrates. We show that a Ge adatom adsorbed to germanene pushes down the host Ge atom underneath and forms a dumbbell structure.

We discuss a model describing the effects of tidal dissipation on satellite's orbits. Tidal bulges are described in terms of a dumbbell, coupled to the rotation by a dissipative interaction. The assumptions on this dissipative coupling turns out to be crucial in the evolution of the system.

Virtual Gymnasium: Personalized Weight Perception Interface in Lifting Virtual Objects
This paper proposes a pseudo-haptic interface that depicts the virtual weights of dumbbells in a virtual gymnasium. When a user performs a dumbbell biceps curl, he/she fixes the elbow joint as a standard joint and lifts the dumbbell, with its movement ...

Adsorption of Group-IV Elements on Graphene, Silicene, Germanene, Stanene: Dumbbell Formation [PDF]
Silicene and germanene derivatives constructed from periodic dumbbell units play a crucial role in multilayers of these honeycomb structures. Using first-principles calculations based on density functional theory, here we investigate the dumbbell ...

Combined Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery and Posterior Spinal Surgery for the Treatment of Dumbbell Tumor of the First Thoracic Nerve Root [PDF]
Although several cases of a dumbbell tumor of thoracic nerve roots have been reported, reports on the surgical procedures for a dumbbell tumor of the first thoracic (T1) nerve root are rare.

Modelling of AlAs/GaAs interfacial structures using high-angle annular dark field (HAADF) image simulations [PDF]
High angle annular dark field (HAADF) image simulations were performed on a series of AlAs/GaAsinterfacial models using the frozen-phonon multislice method. Three general types of models were considered—perfect, vicinal/sawtooth and diffusion. These were
