Dumbbell dipole model and its application in UXO discrimination
SPIE Proceedings, 2006Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) is one of the most promising techniques for UXO discrimination. Target discrimination is usually formulated as an inverse problem typically requiring fast forward models for efficiency. The most successful and widely applied EMI forward model is the simple dipole model, which works well for simple objects when the ...

Theory of High Polymer Solutions (The Dumbbell Model)
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1951Following the theories of McMillan, Mayer, and Zimm, and extending the previous theories of the author, the second virial coefficient A2 for high polymer solutions of the dumbbell model is calculated. The results are rigorous within the approximation of rigid-body potential.

Modelling an equivalent structure of dumbbell DGS for microstrip filters
2016 International Conference on Computing Communication Control and automation (ICCUBEA), 2016Microstrip filters play an important role in wireless or mobile communication systems. In this paper, the method is proposed to model an equivalent structure of DGS in microstrip filters. Once the equation for generating equivalent structure of DGS unit has been modeled, there is no need of calculation of intermediate frequency for deriving an ...

Work fluctuations in an elastic dumbbell model of polymers in planar elongational flow
Physical Review E, 2011We use a path-integral approach to calculate the distribution P(w,t) of the fluctuations in the work w at time t of a polymer molecule (modeled as an elastic dumbbell in a viscous solvent) that is acted on by an elongational flow field having a flow rate ̇γ.

The Internal‐Viscosity Dumbbell in the High‐IV Limit: Implications for Rheological Modeling
Journal of Rheology, 1986The paper is concerned with the study of the behaviour of the free- draining internal viscosity dumbbell in the limit of high internal viscosity (IV). It is shown that the rigid-rod dumbbell and the IV- dumbbell are rheologically identical in the limit of infinite IV and results are obtained for the steady-shear viscosity and first normal stress ...
