Location tracking prevention with dummy messages for vehicular communications
2013 13th International Conference on ITS Telecommunications (ITST), 2013In emerging vehicular communication systems, each vehicle periodically broadcasts safety messages, which contains various vehicle parameters such as location and velocity. While safety messages are designed for advanced road safety and traffic efficiency, a significant concern is that eavesdroppers can track the vehicle's trajectory.

A location model with an endogenous dummy variable
Economics Letters, 2020Abstract In this note, we consider a location model with an unobserved endogenous dummy variable without regressors and without instrumental variables. We show that it is possible to estimate the location parameter under regularity assumptions. One of these assumptions is a symmetry assumption on the error.

Advanced Security Methods for Dummy Location-Based Servic
2018 9th IEEE Annual Ubiquitous Computing, Electronics & Mobile Communication Conference (UEMCON), 2018Convenience is a main concept applied towards the advancement of today’s technology. Convenient services such as Location Based services (LBS) collect data based on a user’s location. This gathered information may seem invasive to many. To others it may be a proper way to enhance user experience such as GPS, social media applications, games, and other ...

A Temporal Caching-Aware Dummy Selection Location Algorithm
2019 20th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies (PDCAT), 2019Along with the increased convenience of our daily life thanks to the proliferation of location-based service (LBS), such as finding restaurants and booking taxi, concerns on privacy disclosure risks in sharing our locations with LBS have also increased and become a major bottleneck that obstacles the widespread of adoption of LBS [1].

Semantic-Aware Dummy Selection for Location Privacy Preservation
2016 IEEE Trustcom/BigDataSE/ISPA, 2016With the development of smart devices and mobile positioning technologies, location-based services (LBS) has become more and more popular. While enjoying the convenience and entertainments provided by LBS, users are vulnerable to the increased privacy leakages of locations as another kind of quasiidentifiers. Most existing location privacy preservation

Another dummy generation technique in location-based services
2016 International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp), 2016With the proliferation of mobile devices, many users now take advantage of location-based services that use their current position. However, careful consideration should be made when sending one's location to another as the location often includes personal attributes such as home address and reveals private information such as health or religion.

Dummy Generation-Based Privacy Preservation for Location-Based Services
Proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking, 2020Location-Based Services (LBS) are a type of applications, which requires user's location information as input in providing useful services [4]. Google Maps (Online Navigation Applications), Foursquare (Geo-Social Network), Strava (Fitness Applications), etc. are some of the examples of LBS applications.

An Improved Dummy Generation Approach for Enhancing User Location Privacy
2021Location-based services (LBS), which provide personalized and timely information, entail privacy concerns such as unwanted leak of current user locations to potential stalkers. Existing works have proposed dummy generation techniques by creating a cloaking region (CR) such that the user’s location is at a fixed distance from the center of CR. Hence, if

Privacy‐preserving enhanced dummy‐generation technique for location‐based services
Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2022SummaryLocation‐based services (LBS) has become an intrinsic part of our everyday life. However, the flexibility and convenience provided by LBS are at the cost of user privacy since untrusted LBS server can leak private information of users. To overcome the privacy issues observed in LBS, a novel dummy‐generation based privacy preservation technique ...

Efficient dummy generation for considering obstacles and protecting user location
Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2019SummaryTo receive location‐based services (LBS), users must disclose their locations and queries to the LBS server, which can expose the user's identity, location, and other information. Recently, techniques for protecting user privacy using dummies have been researched. However, many factors, such as the distance between the obstacles and the dummies,
