Location Privacy Preservation for Mobile Users in Location-Based Services

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Because location-based cyber services are increasingly found in mobile applications (e.g., social networking and maps), user location privacy preservation is essential and remains one of the several ongoing research challenges.

PAD: Privacy-Area Aware, Dummy-Based Location Privacy in Mobile Services

open access: yes, 2008
Location privacy in mobile services has the potential to become a serious concern for service providers and users. Existing pri-vacy protection techniques that use k-anonymity convert an origi-nal query into an anonymous query that contains the locations

One‐Step Preparation of Lanthanide‐Doped Polyurea Multicolor Microspheres for Versatile Fluorescent Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lanthanide‐doped polyurea microspheres are prepared via a facile one‐step precipitation polymerization. They exhibit strong hydrogen‐bonding and coordination interactions with excellent properties, including multicolor emission, high quantum yield (75.3%), remarkable stability, redispersibility, and biocompatibility.

Dummy Kinematics Assessment : Evaluation of a Combined Gyro and Accelerometer Set-up

open access: yes, 2023
Crash test dummy kinematics is commonly obtained from high-speed video recordings or other opticalmethods. The present study evaluates a cost-efficient sensor system combining gyros and accelerometers toderive the kinematics of different parts of a dummy.

An Implantable Phototriggered Prodrug Depot Patch Enables Actively Programmable Drug Release for Post‐Myocardial Infarction Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An implantable phototriggered prodrug depot patch (iPDP) is presented that enables actively programmable drug release post‐implantation. Covalently conjugated prodrug ensures minimal leakage; illumination parameters serve as a code to precisely control dose per release.

Enhanced privacy protection from location dependent attacks in location based services using spatial cloaking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Use of Internet enabled mobile devices has facilitated the rapid development of location-based services (LBS). LBS allow users to access useful information such as the nearest ATM, temple, and so on.

Growth‐Pathway‐Controlled van der Waals Epitaxy of Phase‐Selective Tin Sulfides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Growth‐pathway‐controlled van der Waals epitaxy enables deterministic phase selection and strain engineering in tin sulfide/WSe2 heterostructures. Direct growth of SnS induces substrate‐mediated strain and phase evolution, whereas sequential growth through an SnS2 buffer suppresses strain transfer and stabilizes pristine α‐SnS, revealing a versatile ...

Biomechanical Response and Behavior of Users under Emergency Buffer Crash

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
This paper aims to study the biomechanical effects on elevator users and the injuries sustained should an elevator crash happen. The analysis will focus on buffer impact, signaling that the earlier mentioned buffer is usually located at the bottom of the

A Pathology‐Instructed Theranostic Platform with Mechanoadaptive and ROS‐Powered Nanobreathing Functions for Precision Myocardial Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a pH responsive theranostic serum albumin hydrogel named BST, functionalized with MRI and CT probes and loaded with mitochondria targeted CAT‐SOD nanogels, that rapidly self repairs and mechanically stabilizes the infarcted myocardium, releases therapeutic nanogels and albumin under hypoxia induced acidosis to clear mitochondrial ROS ...

A Smart Fluid‐Hydraulic System Based on MRF Valve Control and Its Application in Flexible Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a smart fluid hydraulic system using MRF valve control for flexible gripping. An MRF‐MSV with an integrated excitation coil and micro‐textured damping channels is designed and validated; micro‐texturing increases hydraulic resistance. Coupled with a soft actuator, the MRF‐MSV enables dynamic bending and grasping.
