Is It a Matter of Visibility Over Viability? CEO Narcissism and the Strategic Trade‐Off in Corporate Diversification

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how CEO narcissism shapes corporate diversification strategies, addressing gaps in upper echelon and agency theories. Calculation of the separation streamlines of barchans and transverse dunes

open access: yes, 2006
We use FLUENT to calculate the wind profile over barchans and transverse dunes. The form of the streamlines of flow separation at the lee side of the dunes is determined for a symmetric barchan dune in three dimensions, and for the height profile of a ...

Optimizing germination and cultivation of edible halophytes using effluents from an IMTA system

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Halophytes offer nature‐based solutions to food insecurity and soil degradation, while their integration into integrated multi‐trophic aquaculture (IMTA) systems promotes circular economy practices. This study aimed to optimize the germination and cultivation of edible halophytic species, namely Limbarda crithmoides, Suaeda vera and

Variation in early‐life maltreatment effects on adolescent psychopathology due to contamination

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examined the effect of early‐life maltreatment on adolescent psychopathology and whether the significance and magnitude of this effect varied based on the presence of contamination (i.e., when individuals in a comparison group are exposed to maltreatment).

Dynamic computed tomography assessment of patellofemoral and tibiofemoral kinematics before and after total knee arthroplasty: A pilot study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To develop and evaluate the clinical feasibility of a dynamic computed tomography (CT) protocol for assessing patellofemoral (PF) and tibiofemoral (TF) kinematics before and after total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and to quantify postoperative kinematic changes in a pilot study.

A simple model for the formation of vegetated dunes

open access: yes, 2000
A simple model for the dynamics of dunes associated with vegetation is proposed. Using the model, formation processes of transverse dunes, parabolic dunes and elongated parabolic dunes according to two environmental factors: i)the amount of sand at the ...

Coal Mining as a Driver of Land Use and Land Cover Change and Degradation: A Case in Moatize City, Mozambique

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Coal remains a major global energy source despite ongoing environmental controversies, particularly, regarding climate change and landscape transformation. This study investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics of land use and land cover (LULC) in the Moatize Coal Basin (MCB), Mozambique, between 1990 and 2024, with a specific focus on land ...
