Heisenberg inequalities for Jacobi transforms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The classical Heisenberg uncertainty principle states that for f∈L2(R),∫Rx2|f(x)|2dx⋅∫Rξ2|fˆ(ξ)|2dξ⩾14‖f‖4.In this paper, we obtain this inequality and variants of it for the Jacobi transform. It implies an analogue for the Jacobi–Dunkl transform.

Heavy‐Mineral Grain Counting: Counting Techniques, Error Estimation, and the Number of Grains to be Counted

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 129, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract Heavy‐mineral assemblages of sediments and sedimentary rocks record information regarding provenance, including the source rocks involved, tectonic setting, climatic conditions, and modifications from source to sink. Drawing conclusions on provenance and provenance changes requires robust quantification of individual heavy‐mineral species ...

The Impact of the Bohemian Spur on the Cooling and Exhumation Pattern of the Eastern Alpine Wedge of the European Alps

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 43, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract Fold and thrust belt architecture may be influenced by basement geometry of the downgoing plate. This influence is notoriously difficult to assess due to a common lack of subsurface constraints and low resolution of exhumation estimates in space and time.

Tectonic Evolution of the Eastern Southern Alps (Italy): A Reappraisal From New Structural Data and Geochronological Constraints

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 43, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract The Eastern Southern Alps fold‐and‐thrust belt (ESA) is part of the seismically active S‐verging retro‐wedge of the European Alps. Its temporal tectonic evolution during continental shortening has so far been constrained by few and low‐resolution indirect time constraints.

Quantification of sediment fluxes and intermittencies from Oligo–Miocene megafan deposits in the Swiss Molasse basin

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 36, Issue 2, March–April 2024.
This study investigates how three palaeo‐depositional systems situated in the Swiss Molasse basin (North to the Central European Alps; details in Fig. 1) record the tecto‐geomorphic and climatic boundary conditions of the source area through Oligo‐Miocene times.

Homomorphisms on groups and induced maps on certain algebras of measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Suppose that φ \varphi is a continuous homomorphism of a locally compact group G G into another such group, H H , then φ \varphi induces in a natural way a homomorphism

First hitting time of the boundary of a wedge of angle $\pi/4$ by a radial Dunkl process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Title is changed, many corrections, new resultsInternational audienceIn this paper, we derive an integral representation for the density of the reciprocal of the first hitting time of the boundary of a wedge of angle $\pi/4$ by a radial Dunkl process ...

Uncertainty principles for the Weinstein transform [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
summary:The Weinstein transform satisfies some uncertainty principles similar to the Euclidean Fourier transform. A generalization and a variant of Cowling-Price theorem, Miyachi's theorem, Beurling's theorem, and Donoho-Stark's uncertainty principle are
