Resection of Benign Duodenal Neoplasms
American Surgeon, 2007Primary small bowel neoplasms (PSBN) are uncommon, accounting for less than 15 per cent of all gastrointestinal tumors. Benign duodenal neoplasms (BDN) are rare, comprising only 10 to 20 per cent of all PSBN. The treatment is generally surgical resection ranging from local excision to pancreaticoduodenectomy depending on size, location, and number of ...

Endoscopic and surgical management of nonampullary duodenal neoplasms
Surgical Endoscopy and Other Interventional Techniques, 2018Sporadic nonampullary duodenal neoplasms (SNADN) can have malignant potential for which endoscopic and surgical resections are offered. We report combined gastroenterologic and surgical experience for treatment of SNADN, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and pancreas-preserving partial duodenectomy (PPPD).We retrospectively reviewed 121 ...

Endoscopic resection of duodenal neoplasms: a single-center study
Surgical Endoscopy and Other Interventional Techniques, 2010Premalignant duodenal lesions such as adenomas are rare. Surgical resection has been the standard approach to the treatment of these lesions. Endoscopic resection of superficial premalignant or malignant lesions of the gastrointestinal tract is used with increasing frequency.

Duodenal neuroendocrine neoplasms: a still poorly recognized clinical entity

A case of neuroendocrine neoplasm of the minor duodenal papilla
Clinical Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022A 61-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm with no symptoms. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) depicted a 15 mm nodular lesion at the descending portion of duodenum. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed a submucosal tumor-like mass at the minor duodenal papilla. A boring biopsy of the tumor revealed a

En Bloc Pancreaticoduodenectomy and Colectomy for Duodenal Neoplasms
Southern Medical Journal, 1997Duodenal malignancy is rare and generally considered to have both a low resectability rate and a poor prognosis. Historically, the involvement of the colon or its mesentery has been considered a criterion for unresectability by many surgeons because of the overall magnitude of surgery involved with an en bloc colectomy and pancreaticoduodenectomy.
