Duration Analysis: An Overview

2010
Duration analysis has long been used in banking, insurance and finance [see Bierwag et al. (1978) and Ingersoll et al. (1978) for historic overviews]. Macaulay (1938) was early to use it for quantifying the length of the payment stream of a bond, defining duration as the weighted average of the time to maturity.

Traffic incident Duration analysis using Hazard duration model

Proceedings 2011 International Conference on Transportation, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering (TMEE), 2011
Duration analysis is one of the most important steps of the overall traffic incident management process. Based on the survey data on traffic incident information, this paper developed the Hazard duration model, and analyzed the statistical indicators and key factors of incident duration by using the theory of Hazard function.
