A General Temporal Model Supporting Duration Reasoning
AI Communications, 1992This paper proposes axioms for a temporal system based on a discrete set of primitive elements, which may be intervals or points, supporting duration reasoning. It is shown that this system can be interpreted in various possible models. The proposed system overcomes problems involved in the need to model ‘open’ and ‘closed’ intervals, by allowing ...

On Tool Support for Duration Calculus on the Basis of Presburger Arithmetic
2011 Eighteenth International Symposium on Temporal Representation and Reasoning, 2011Interval Logics are often very expressive logics for which decision and model-checking algorithms are hard or even impossible to achieve, and this also applies for Duration Calculus, which adds the notion of accumulated duration to the Interval Temporal Logic introduced by Moszkowski et al.

Long-duration space mission regenerative life support
Acta Astronautica, 2000The paper deals with the construction of physical/chemical life support systems of orbiting space station Mir and the Russian segment of the international space station (ISS). Based on experience gained in development and long-term operation of systems for water recovery and air revitalization balance and energy/mass characteristics of promising life ...

Support vector regression fusion scheme in phone duration modeling
2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011A fusion scheme of phone duration models (PDMs) is presented in this work. Specifically, a support vector regression (SVR)-fusion model is fed with the predictions of a group of independent PDMs operating in parallel. The American-English KED TIMIT and the Greek WCL-1 databases are used for evaluating the PDMs and the fusion scheme.

EMG and duration of ventilatory support in children with Guillain–Barre syndrome
Child's Nervous System, 2006Predicting length of stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) in children with Guillain-Barre syndrome may help decision-making at admission.Between 1996 and 2003, we attended to 30 children with Guillain-Barre syndrome who required ventilatory support in ICU.

AN ANALYSIS OF DURATION ON THE DISABILITY SUPPORT PENSION PROGRAM*
Australian Economic Papers, 2006The paper examines the factors that determine the duration on the Disability Support Pension (DSP) program using administrative data. We estimate two models based on two competing assumptions: the first model takes the standard assumption in duration models that all recipients will eventually leave the program.

Support Vector Regression for Predicting the Enhancement Duration of Software Projects
2017 16th IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications (ICMLA), 2017Software engineering (SE) has been defined as the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software. Enhancement is a type of software maintenance. SE involves software planning (SP), and SP includes prediction.

Dietary Support of Long-Duration Head-Down Bed Rest
Aviation, Space, and Environmental Medicine, 2009Dietary control and nutrient intake are critical aspects of any metabolic study, but this is especially true in the case of bed rest studies. We sought to define nutritional requirements, develop menus, and implement them during long-duration head-down bed rest studies. The dietary goals were to provide 100% of subjects' nutrient requirements and to ...

Systems Analysis of Life Support for Long-Duration Missions
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2000<div class="htmlview paragraph">Work defining advanced life support (ALS) technologies and evaluating their applicability to various long-duration missions has continued. Time-dependent and time-invariant costs have been estimated for a variety of life support technology options, including International Space Station (ISS) environmental control ...

Long duration mission support operations concepts
Space Programs and Technologies Conference, 1990It is suggested that the system operations will be one of the most expensive parts of the Mars mission, and that, in order to reduce their cost, they should be considered during the conceptual phase of the Space Exploration Initiative (SEI) program. System operations of Space Station Freedom, Lunar outpost, and Mars Rover Sample Return are examined in ...
