Ice magnetization in the EPICA-Dome C ice core: Implication for dust sources during glacial and interglacial periods [PDF]
Isothermal remanent magnetization and insoluble dust content of ice samples from EPICA-Dome C ice core were measured to characterize the magnetic properties of atmospheric dust.

Role for Complement C5 in Eosinophilic Inflammation of Severe Asthma
Complement activation module, particularly C5, is positively associated with eosinophilic inflammation in severe asthma cohorts. Elevated C5 expression correlates with poor lung function improvement and persistent eosinophilic inflammation. Mouse model studies confirm that C5 exacerbates eosinophilic inflammation, highlighting its potential as a ...

Prediction of the number of cloud droplets in the ECHAM GCM
In this paper a prognostic equation for the number of cloud droplets (CDNC) is introduced into the ECHAM general circulation model. The initial CDNC is based on the mechanistic model of Chuang and Penner [1995], providing a more realistical prediction of

The Therapeutic Potential of Farm Dust Extracts in a Mouse Model of Eosinophilic Inflammation
Farm dust extract (FDE) treatment reduces airway eosinophilia, mucus overproduction, and MHC‐II expression on DCs, limiting antigen presentation and Th2 inflammation. It increases PD‐L1 on DCs, promoting T cell deactivation. Additionally, FDE enhances Tregs and upregulates CTLA‐4, reinforcing suppression.

Last glacial maximum radiative forcing from mineral dust aerosols in an Earth System model [PDF]
The mineral dust cycle in pre-industrial (PI) and last glacial maximum (LGM) simulations with the CMIP5 model HadGEM2-A is evaluated. The modeled global dust cycle is enhanced at the LGM, with larger emissions in the Southern hemisphere, consistent with ...
