Martian Dust Storm Spatial‐Temporal Analysis of Tentative Landing Areas for China's Tianwen‐3 Mars Mission

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
China's first Mars sampling return mission (Tianwen‐3) is designed to launch and retrieve samples around 2030. Three tentative landing areas (TLAs) (Amazonis, Chryse and Utopia Planitiae, i.e., TLA‐A, TLA‐C and TLA‐U) are selected based on elevation

Variations in the Ionospheric Peak Altitude at Mars in Response to Dust Storms: 13 Years of Observations from the Mars Express Radar Sounder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Previous observations have shown that, during Martian dust storms, the peak of the ionosphere rises in altitude. Observational studies of this type, however, have been extremely limited. Using 13 years of ionospheric peak altitude data from the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS) instrument on Mars Express, we study how ...

Mechanical Properties of Cycled Single Crystal LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2 (NMC811) Particles

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
The mechanical properties of single crystal NMC811 particles are determined as a function of cycling and C‐rate C/10→2 C. Individual SC NMC811 particles lose strength with cycling, remaining strongest for compression normal to the (0001)R‐3m layered structure.

Enrichment of hepatic glycogen and plasma glucose from H₂18O informs gluconeogenic and indirect pathway fluxes in naturally feeding mice

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 36, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
18O‐enrichment of liver glycogen, triglyceride glycerol, and blood glucose of mice given 18O‐water during overnight feeding was quantified by 13C NMR and MS. Glycogen 18O‐enrichment of oxygens 3, 5, and 6 from isotope‐shifted 13C signals informed indirect pathway contributions from different sources.

Midwinter suppression of baroclinic storm activity on Mars: observations and models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Baroclinic instability and intense traveling wave activity on Mars is well known to occur in “storm zones” (Hollingsworth et al. 1996) close to the edge of the advancing or retreating polar ice cap.

Engineering Affibody Binders to Death Receptor 5 and Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor 1 With Improved Stability

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Protein developability is an important, yet often overlooked, aspect of protein discovery campaigns that is a key driver of utility. Recent advances have improved developability screening capacity, making it an increasingly viable option in early‐stage discovery.
