The Evaluation of the Agriculture of Hazelhazelnut in Duzce According to Climate Parameters

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sustainable Agricultural Research, 2017
Agriculture is a highly important economic activity in the world. Among the agricultural products of Turkey, hazelhazelnut is an important product for Turkey’s economy. More than 60 percent of the world hazelhazelnut production is made in Turkey. In this study, hazelhazelnut production in Duzce is examined in terms of possible climate effect in future.

Effect of Alley Cropping on Crops and Arthropod Diversity in Duzce, Turkey

open access: yesJournal of Agronomy and Crop Science, 2003
AbstractThe influence of alley cropping practices on trees, agricultural crops and arthropod diversity was studied in Duzce, Turkey. Six replications of three crops, maize (Zea mays L. var. rugosa), beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.), were planted in the alleyways between rows of hybrid poplar [Populus euramericana (Dode ...

Epilepsy knowledge as an independent predictor of attitudes toward epilepsy among health services students: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders worldwide and is frequently accompanied by stigma and misconceptions. Negative attitudes toward individuals with epilepsy may adversely affect social integration, access to healthcare, and quality of life. Healthcare students represent future professionals whose knowledge and

Evaluation of the Adequacy of Design Specifications for Nonstructural Components in a Reticular Structure

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nonstructural components (NSCs) installed in large‐span reticular structures were frequently severely damaged during earthquakes, even when the primary structure remained intact. Existing seismic design specifications for NSCs were predominantly developed for upright structures such as multi‐storey buildings and offer no guidance for reticular

An Efficient Quasi‐Static Condensation‐Based Framework for Seismic Analysis of Multi‐Supported Secondary Structures

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multi‐supported non‐structural components (NSCs) are prone to seismic damage, yet their response prediction remains challenging when support motions are spatially incoherent. This study proposes an enhanced quasi‐static condensation (EQSC) method for linear, lightweight, dynamically detuned multi‐supported NSCs under the neglect of primary ...

Repeatability and Parasitic Out‐of‐Plane Motion in Controlled Rocking Structures With Cylindrical Columns: Results From Triaxial Shake Table Tests

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Self‐centering rocking structures outperform conventional ones since they show zero post‐earthquake damage and excellent recentering; however, their applications remain limited due to concerns that rocking is extremely sensitive and nonrepeatable. This paper investigates the repeatability and parasitic out‐of‐plane motion of controlled rocking

Physicochemical and Antioxidant Responses of St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) under Drought Stress

open access: yesDüzce Üniversitesi Bilim ve Teknoloji Dergisi, 2021
This study investigated the effects of drought stress on the physiological and biochemical responses of the medicinal and aromatic plant Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s Wort). Changes were determined in leaf length, relative water content (RWC), osmotic

On Geometric Phase Model in the Theory of Curves With Myller Configuration

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we introduce a linearly polarized light wave in an optical fiber and rotation of the polarization plane through the Frenet‐type frame with Myller configuration. Since the geometric evaluation and interpretations of a polarized light wave are associated with geometric phase, a new type of geometric phase model has been ...
