However, the VHF band suffers significantly higher levels of man-made noise compared to the UHF band.

Simulating DVB-T to DVB-T2 migration opportunities in Croatian TV broadcasting
2014 22nd International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM), 2014In this paper we analyzed possible capacity gains in transition from DVB-T to DVB-T2 standard. We compared minimum C/N ratio needed for quasi error free reception of DVB-T and DVB-T2 systems with similar transmitting parameters currently used in Croatia.

Die Satellitenubertragungstechnik von digitalen TV-Signalen wurde nun ausfuhrlich besprochen. Das folgende Kapitel beschaftigt sich mit der DVB-S/S2-Messtechnik. Die Satellitenubertragung ist relativ robust und im Prinzip nur gepragt durch Rauscheinflusse (ca. 205 dB Freiraumdampfung) und evtl. Einstrahlungen von Richtfunkstrecken.

International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), 1996Key features of the DVB-T specification for digital terrestrial television, jointly agreed in 1996 by broadcasters and manufacturers, are described. The DVB-T builds on the work of several European collaborative projects and uses COFDM to counter the peculiarities of the terrestrial channel.
