Porous Organic Cages as Building Blocks for Framework Materials

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Confined nanospaces play a fundamental role in nature, inspiring synthetic analogues that emulate biological precision and efficiency. Among these, porous crystalline materials such as covalent organic frameworks (COFs), metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), and molecular cage compounds have emerged as powerful platforms for catalysis, separation, and ...

Characterization of the pattern of development of key compounds contributing to aroma quality of chicken meat and their metabolic markers

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract shows the principal results of this study. Eight major aroma‐contributing compounds (nonanal, octanal, dimethyl tetrasulfide, hexanal, 1‐octen‐3‐ol, (E)‐2‐nonenal, heptanal, and (E,E)‐2,4‐decadienal) were identified by electronic nose and GC‐O‐MS analysis, and their content increased with age.

Breaking DVB-CSA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) is a set of standards for digital television. DVB supports the encryption of a transmission using the Common Scrambling Algorithm (DVB-CSA). This is commonly used for PayTV or for other conditional access scenarios. While DVB-CSA support 64 bit keys, many stations use only 48 bits of entropy for the key and 16 bits are ...

The importance of science communication and public engagement to professional associations

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Scientists have gathered in professional associations to promote science to the public. The American Association for Anatomy (AAA) has invested resources in programs to promote anatomical sciences to the public (high school level via the Anato‐Bee; all levels via Anatomy nights) and train scientists how to talk to the public (SciComm Bootcamp ...

LDPC decoder architecture for DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X standards [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Workshop on Signal Processing Systems (SiPS), 2015
A particular type of conflict due to multiple-diagonal sub-matrices in the DVB-S2 parity-check matrices is known to complicate the implementation of the layered decoder architecture. The new matrices proposed in DVB-S2X no longer use such sub-matrices.
