Rethinking Perioperative Corticosteroids in Esophageal Cancer Surgery: Evidence From an Integrative Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Esophagectomy remains a highly invasive procedure associated with substantial postoperative morbidity. Pulmonary complications, anastomotic leakage, and in‐hospital mortality are of particular concern. Perioperative corticosteroids are often administered to attenuate excessive inflammatory responses; however, the clinical impact in ...

Daily vertical migrations of aquatic organisms and water transparency as indicators of the potential exposure of freshwater lakes to light pollution

open access: yesActa Biologica Sibirica
Light pollution, which disrupts the vital functions of organisms, including aquatic organisms, has become widespread in recent years. One of the main biological features of aquatic organisms is the presence of daily vertical migrations (DVM). However, as

Bayesian Optimization Guiding the Experimental Mapping of the Pareto Front of Mechanical and Flame‐Retardant Properties in Polyamide Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Bayesian optimization enabled the design of PA56 system with just 8 wt% additives, achieving limiting oxygen index 30.5%, tensile strength 80.9 MPa, and UL‐94 V‐0 rating. Without prior knowledge, the algorithm uncovered synergistic effects between aluminum diethyl‐phosphinate and nanoclay.

Zooplankton diel vertical migration in the Corsica Channel (north-western Mediterranean Sea) detected by a moored acoustic Doppler current profiler [PDF]

open access: yesOcean Science, 2019
Diel vertical migration (DVM) is a survival strategy adopted by zooplankton that we investigated in the Corsica Channel using acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) data from April 2014 to November 2016.

A Fast True Time-Delay Wideband Multi-Beam Beamforming Algorithm Based on a 16-Beam Approximate-DVM

open access: yesIEEE Access
True-time-delay (TTD) beamformers can generate wideband squint-free beams in analog and digital signal domains. The delay Vandermonde matrix (DVM) was introduced as a mathematical model that represents TTD-based multi-beam beamformers while reducing the ...
