Azurins With Tunable Reduction Potentials as Redox Mediators for Extracellular Electron Transfer
Electroactive microbe Shewanella oneidensis reduced non‐native electron transfer protein, azurin, via extracellular electron transfer (EET) with dependence on azurin redox potential. Utilizing azurin in EET‐driven bio‐(electro)catalysis improved fuel cell current and accelerated textile dye decolorization.

Singlet‐Oxygen Generation by Peroxidases and Peroxygenases for Chemoenzymatic Synthesis [PDF]
Singlet oxygen is a reactive oxygen species undesired in living cells but a rare and valuable reagent in chemical synthesis. We present a fluorescence spectroscopic analysis of the singlet-oxygen formation activity of commercial peroxidases and novel ...

Enantioselective Synthesis of Dilignol Model Compounds and Their Stereodiscrimination Study with a Dye-Decolorizing Peroxidase [PDF]
A four-step enantioselective approach was developed to synthesize anti (1R,2S)-1a and (1S,2R)-1b containing a β-O-4 linkage in good yields. A significant difference was observed for the apparent binding affinities of four stereospecific lignin model compounds with TcDyP by surface plasmon resonance, which was not translated into a significant ...

Co‐Detoxification of Multiple Mycotoxins: Microbial and Enzymatic Biodegradation Processes
The presence of mycotoxins poses a threat to food safety. This article reviews microbial/enzymatic detoxification technologies and the main degradation pathways of key mycotoxins. We propose to overcome current bottlenecks through enzyme engineering and synthetic biology, providing a roadmap for sustainable and scalable solutions.

The phylogeny of the mammalian heme peroxidases and the evolution of their diverse functions [PDF]
The mammalian heme peroxidases (MHPs) are a medically important group of enzymes. Included in this group are myeloperoxidase, eosinophil peroxidase, lactoperoxidase, and thyroid peroxidase.

Purification and characterization of peroxidases from the dye-decolorizing fungusBjerkandera adusta [PDF]
A peroxidase oxidizing Mn2+ (MnP) is described for the first time in Bjerkandera adusta, a fungus efficiently degrading xenobiotic compounds. The MnP appeared as two isoenzymes, which were purified to homogeneity together with two lignin peroxidases (LiP).
