Integrating tunable LED‐induced plant responses with novel solar cell technologies for energy‐efficient agrivoltaic systems

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
The increasing demand for sustainable food production requires innovative solutions that balance productivity, resource efficiency, and environmental impact. Vertical Farming Systems (VFSs) offer a promising approach; however, their high energy consumption remains challenging.

N719 and N3 dyes for quasi-solid state dye sensitized solar cells - A comparative study using polyacrylonitrile and CsI based electrolytes

open access: yesCeylon Journal of Science, 2016
Dye sensitized solar cells offer a low cost alternative technology for solar energy harvesting. However, there are long term stability issues connected with these cells due to the liquid electrolytes normally used. Gel or solid polymer electrolytes which

Dye-sensitized solar cells based on MK2 dye, PMMA-based quasi-solid electrolyte, and flexible CNT counter electrode

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
In this paper, a dye-sensitized solar cell based on organic MK2 dye, a quasi-solid electrolyte, and a flexible counter electrode was investigated. Two types of TiO2 nanoparticles with different sizes were used to make the photoanode with a bi-layer ...

Resonant Lifetime of Core-Excited Organic Adsorbates from First Principles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate by first-principles simulations the resonant electron-transfer lifetime from the excited state of an organic adsorbate to a semiconductor surface, namely isonicotinic acid on rutile TiO$_2$(110).

Tuning the Photochemistry of Entatic State Model Systems

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
We present the photochemistry of the entatic state model [Cu(DMEGqu)2]+/2+, a copper guanidino‐quinoline complex pair. By transient IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy, we obtained the lifetimes of the different excited states. We show that the structural effect of the guanidine tunes the photochemistry of this entatic state model.

Outdoor Measurements of Perovskite Modules

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 679-692, June 2026.
Performance of a single junction perovskite module (total area of 0.7164 m2) during 1 year of outdoor monitoring. ABSTRACT For the PSC PV to be a competing technology with silicon and thin film PV technologies more data from field installations need to be studied and examined.

Beyond Water: Deep Eutectic Solvents Enable Dye‐Sensitised Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Dye‐sensitised photocatalytic H2 evolution is demonstrated for the first time in deep eutectic solvents (DESs). Carbazole‐based dyes with different hydrophobicity sensitise Pt@TiO2, revealing that heterogeneous dye–DES combinations maximise activity. Interfacial solvation and charge transfer govern enhanced hydrogen production under visible light. This

Development of dye-sensitized solar cell based on combination of natural dyes extracted from Malabar spinach and red spinach

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Herein, natural green and red dyes have been extracted from Malabar spinach (Basella alba) and red spinach (Amaranthus dubius), respectively, and were used as a sensitizer source for TiO2 photoanode based dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC).
