Modified dye dilution technique for cardiac output studies in tiny subjects
American Heart Journal, 1969Abstract A modified dye dilution technique for cardiac output estimation in very small subjects is presented. Instead of the conventional constant blood withdrawal technique followed by reinfusion after the inscription of the dye curve, a Holter pump withdraws arterial blood into the cuvette and simultaneously reinfuses it back into the subject's ...

Clinical relevance of lung water measurement with the thermal-dye dilution technique
Journal of Surgical Research, 1990The quantification of extravascular lung water, the morphologic correlate of pulmonary edema, is not possible with routine clinical studies [96, 97]. The early accumulation of interstitial edema as well as small changes in the water content of the lungs when edema is established are not reliably detected or quantified with the chest radiograph or blood

Portal Circulation in Humans Studied by a Dye-Dilution Technique
European Surgical Research, 1972Human portal circulation was investigated by a dye-dilution technique. The dye was injected in the superior mesenteric artery and venous blood was sampled from various parts of the portal system ...

Quantitative Flow Estimations of Arteriovenous Fistulas with Doppler and Dye-Dilution Techniques
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1980The flow in operatively created arteriovenous fistulas of 14 patients was calculated with Doppler and dye-dilution techniques. Good correlation was found between the 2 methods. Differences in the results and future examination techniques are discussed.

Measurement of Extravascular Renal Water by the Thermal Dye Indicator Dilution Technique
Journal of Urology, 1982Simple mechanical swelling of the renal parenchyma against an unyielding renal capsule may be responsible in part for the development of oliguria and acute tubular necrosis. However, until now, renal swelling was difficult to measure, except by postmortem gravimetric techniques.

Measurement of Flow Components on Upland Areas Using Dye Dilution Techniques
Transactions of the ASAE, 1988ABSTRACT DYE dilution techniques can be used to measure rill, interrill, and interrill-to-rill flow rates on upland areas. Procedures and equations for making flow measurements are described along with equations for estimating interrill length and width.

Arteriovenous Shunting in Carcinomas Evaluated by a Dye Dilution Technique
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1977In 19 patients with renal carcinomas determination of the renal blood flow and related parameters were determined. In 10 of the kidneys the renal blood flow was higher than 1700 ml/min, in five kidneys the vascular volume was increased and in all kidneys the appearance time of dye in the renal vein was below normal.

Arteriovenous Fistulae in Rabbit Kidney Studied by Dye-Dilution Technique and by Angiography
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1972The effects of percutaneous punctures of kidneys of rabbits were studied by nephroangiography and by determination of renal blood flow using a dye-dilution technique. The punctures were made during the actual examination or up to 7 days earlier. At puncture small fistulae immediately were created, often only detectable by the dye-dilution technique ...

Blood Flow in Renal Carcinomas Evaluated by a Dye Dilution Technique and Angiography
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1977In 31 patients with renal carcinoma referred for angiography, rapid sequence angiography was performed in 25. In 18 of the patients determination of renal blood flow and related parameters was made in conjunction with the angiography. Carcinomas with high and medium-high differentiation comprised Group I, while those with medium and poor ...

Renal Blood Flow in Dogs Studied by Means of a Dye-Dilution Technique
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1969The renal blood flow in dogs was studied with a dye-dilution technique using indocyanine green. A new method of analyzing the dye-dilution curves was devised by which it was possible to estimate the magnitude of separate flow components of the curves.
