Biodiesel Production From Canola Oil by Titanium Dioxide‐Photocatalysed Transesterification

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2026.
Photocatalytic transesterification of canola oil over TiO2 under UVA irradiation enables biodiesel production under mild conditions. Yields up to 73% FAME and 38% FAEE were achieved, with negative Gibbs free energy (ΔG < 0) confirming thermodynamic favourability.

The search for building-integrated PV materials with good aesthetic potential: a survey

open access: yes, 2011
Building-integrated photovoltaics (PV) is currently dominated by blue and black rectilinear forms. Greater variety of colour and form could lead to much better uptake of PV in the built environment, also increasing the potential for PV to be used ...

Effect of Yttrium Doping on Titanium Dioxide

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The wide band gap and chemical–mechanical stability of titanium dioxide (TiO2) make it one of the most important semiconductor materials for photocatalytic applications. However, its performance is limited by its low absorption in the visible light region. In this study, yttrium (Y)‐doped TiO2 (Y/TiO2) powders containing 1%, 5%, and 10% Y were

Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells Based on WO3

open access: yes, 2010
In research on alternative photoanode materials for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs), there is rarely any report onWO3, probably due to its acidic surface and more positive (vs NHE) conduction band edge position compared to TiO2 and ZnO.

Conical islands of TiO2 nanotube arrays in the photoelectrode of dye-sensitized solar cells

open access: yes, 2015
Ti conical island structures were fabricated using photolithography and the reactive ion etching method. The resulting conical island structures were anodized in ethylene glycol solution containing 0.25 wt% NH4F and 2 vol% H2O, and conical islands ...

Dye-sensitized nanostructured tandem cell - first demonstrated cell with a dye-sensitized photocathode

open access: yes
We show that a combination of a dye and a nanostructured NiO thin film on a conducting substrate can form a dye-sensitized photocathode that can be an active part in a tandem dye-sensitized solar cell (TDSC). To exptl.
