An investigation of the effects of model structure on model performance to reduce discharge simulation uncertainty in two catchments [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Geosciences, 2008
This paper investigates the variations of model performance caused by different model structures in both flow processes and model complexity level. Two case studies indicate that model efficiency is strongly dependent on model structure.

Using Financial and Sustainability Ratios to Map Sectors. An Approach With Compositional Data

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The article aims to visualize in a single graph Spanish fish and meat processing companies with respect to solvency, energy, waste and water intensity and gender employment gap. These financial, environmental, and social indicators are ratios, which require specific statistical analysis methods.

A fluid flow perspective on the diagenesis of Te Aute limestones

open access: yes, 2003
Pliocene cool-water, bioclastic Te Aute limestones in East Coast Basin, New Zealand, accumulated either in shelfal shoal areas or about structurally shallow growth fold structures in the tectonically active accretionary forearc prism.

Molten‐Salt‐Mediated Chemical Looping Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane with In‐Situ Carbon Capture and Utilization

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
A sustainable alternative to steam cracking, the molten‐salt‐mediated oxidative dehydrogenation (MM‐ODH) of ethane (C2H6) in Li2CO3‐Na2CO3‐K2CO3 (LNK) couples thermal cracking with melt‐mediated CO2 capture to realize commercially competitive C2H4 and CO yields. LNK composition strongly influences MM‐ODH process outcomes.

Review and prospects of shear test of bolted rock joints

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The laboratory shear test equipment, test method, and numerical simulation of bolted rock joints were summarized. The shortcomings and limitations of the current research were analyzed, and the research prospects were proposed. Abstract Rock bolting is a critical approach in geotechnical engineering for supporting weak rocks.

Shear behavior of bolt–grout interfaces under constant normal stiffness: Influence of grout strength and thickness

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The effects of grout strength and thickness on the shear behavior of bolt–grout interfaces (BGI) under constant normal stiffness conditions are investigated. Shear strength, failure modes, and acoustic emission characteristics are examined. The findings reveal that grout strength exerts a significantly greater influence on BGI shear strength and ...
