Using Financial and Sustainability Ratios to Map Sectors. An Approach With Compositional Data
ABSTRACT The article aims to visualize in a single graph Spanish fish and meat processing companies with respect to solvency, energy, waste and water intensity and gender employment gap. These financial, environmental, and social indicators are ratios, which require specific statistical analysis methods.

Reconstruction of reflectivity vertical profiles and data quality control for C-band radar rainfall estimation [PDF]
Microwave Doppler radars are considered a fairly established technique to retrieve rain rate fields from measured reflectivity volumes. However, in a complex orographic environment radar observations are affected by several impairments which should be ...

Electron Microprobe Chemical Dating of Uraninite as a Reconnaissance Tool for Leucogranite Geochronology [PDF]
We suggest that electron microprobe techniques may be employed to date Tertiary samples of uraninite (UO~2~), which can contain very high concentrations of radiogenic Pb after only a few million of years of U and Th decay. Although uraninite is regarded

A sustainable alternative to steam cracking, the molten‐salt‐mediated oxidative dehydrogenation (MM‐ODH) of ethane (C2H6) in Li2CO3‐Na2CO3‐K2CO3 (LNK) couples thermal cracking with melt‐mediated CO2 capture to realize commercially competitive C2H4 and CO yields. LNK composition strongly influences MM‐ODH process outcomes.

Atmospheric patterns for heavy rain events in the Balearic Islands [PDF]
The Balearic Islands, as well as other Mediterranean regions, are occasionally affected by heavy rain events, which can produce numerous damages. This study contributes to improve the understanding of the dynamical mechanisms that produce heavy rain ...

In this work, we propose an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and develop an improved PSO‐relevance vector machine (RVM) model as a substitute for traditional true‐triaxial testing. The model's high prediction accuracy was validated through comparisons with two other machine learning methods and five three‐dimensional Hoek–Brown type
