A BACTERIA FORAGING ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING INTEGRATED MULTI-PERIOD CELL FORMATION AND SUBCONTRACTING PRODUCTION PLANNING IN A DYNAMIC CELLULAR MANUFACTURING SYSTEM

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Industrial Engineering, 2012
<p>ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The bacteria foraging algorithm (BFA) is a new computation technique inspired by the social foraging behaviour of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. Since the introduction of the BFA by Kevin M.

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

A model for manufacturing cell job redesign [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Cellular manufacturing is widely viewed as an exemplary form of manufacturing organisation for small batch size production. A UK survey states that over 75% of British engineering industry have introduced or are planning to introduce cellular ...

Coxsackie B1 virus-like particle that lacks VP4 protein demonstrates improved vaccine scalability, stability and immunogenicity

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Science
Background Enteroviruses, including coxsackievirus B1 (CVB1), cause severe diseases such as myocarditis and meningitis, but vaccines are lacking for most enteroviruses.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Regulatory Mechanism of Extracellular Vesicles in The Tumor Immune Microenvironment and Its Application in Diagnosis and Treatment

open access: yesShengwu huaxue yu shengwu wuli jinzhan
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are pivotal mediators of intercellular communication within the tumor immune microenvironment (TME). They are broadly categorized into exosomes, microvesicles, and apoptotic bodies based on their distinct biogenesis pathways.

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.
