Mechanistic Study of Lithium Electrodeposition Using Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2023
Lithium metal batteries have increased energy density over standard graphite-based Li-ion anodes. However, Li metal anodes have difficulty forming stable passivation layer (called solid electrolyte interphase, SEI) leading to poor use of Li inventory. That is, LI metals require larger cathode loading, which reduces the energy density gain.

Dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of the first order electrode reaction

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2003
Abstract Continuous short time Fourier transformation transforms of the sinusoidal perturbation signal and current have been found for the first order electrode reaction. The electrode impedance has been determined in the joint time–frequency domain.

Evaluation of Interface Performance by Means of Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Interface performance investigations of turbine rotor alloy (30Cr2MoV) in 0.01M Na2MoO4have been performed by means of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) under step potential change conditions. A general equivalent circuit was employed to analysis the polarization behavior of that turbine rotor.

A 0.28mΩ-sensitivity 105dB-dynamic-range electrochemical impedance spectroscopy soc for electrochemical gas detection

2018 IEEE International Solid - State Circuits Conference - (ISSCC), 2018
An electrochemical (EC) gas sensor is a 3+ terminal electrochemical device which, when biased correctly with a potentiostat circuit, behaves as a current source whose output is proportional to the target gas concentration. The short lifetime of these sensors has become a key functional safety issue for hazardous gas detection modules.

(Invited) Beyond Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy: Advanced Methods for Studying the Dynamics of Electrochemical Processes

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2023
The most popular technique for characterizing various electrochemical devices such as fuel cells, water electrolysis or batteries is electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). However, due to the coupling of dynamic phenomena with similar time constants, EIS often fails to separate the contributions of individual processes to overall performance ...

Using Dynamic Signal Analyzers for Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

ECS Transactions, 2006
This publication summarizes the advantages of using a dynamic signal analyzer (DSA) for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The built-in fast Fourier transform (FFT) technique can provide a significant improvement in speed of data acquisition at the cost of dynamic range.

Investigations of the passive layer cracking by means of Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

Electrochimica Acta, 2003
Abstract The Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy has been applied for stress corrosion cracking (SCC) investigations. The effect of applied potential and tensile stresses on the stress corrosion cracking behaviour of type 304L stainless steel (SS) immersed in 0.5 M NaCl solution of room temperature has been examined.

Application of Dynamic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Technique in Corrosion and Corrosion-Inhibition Studies

2023
The chapter discusses a new corrosion monitoring technique, the modified version of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) called the dynamic EIS (DEIS). It is adjudged, at present as best suited technique for corrosion monitoring and corrosion inhibition measurements because of its ability to track corrosion processes in a changing environment ...

Analysis of low-frequency impedance of industrial-sized SOFC based on dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

Electrochimica Acta
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), as clean and highly efficient power generation devices, are strongly influenced by low-frequency gas conversion and gas diffusion impedances under high-efficiency operating conditions. However, there is a lack of experimental investigations and analyses under such practical operating conditions.
