CERTAINTY EQUIVALENCE FOR DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL FERTILIZER APPLICATION RATES WITH CARRY-OVER [PDF]

open access: yes
This note demonstrates that a certain class of stochastic problems for determination of optimal fertilizer application rates in the presence of fertilizer carry-over can be simplified to static, certainly equivalent problems.

Program equivalence for a concurrent lambda calculus with futures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Reasoning about the correctness of program transformations requires a notion of program equivalence. We present an observational semantics for the concurrent lambda calculus with futures Lambda(fut), which formalizes the operational semantics of the ...

TRANSLATOR’S PROBLEM AND STRATEGY IN TRANSLATING ALLEGORY IN GEORGE HERBERT’S “THE PILGRIMAGE”

open access: yesJurnal Smart
This study examines the problems and strategies in translating allegory within George Herbert’s “The Pilgrimage” from English into Indonesian. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research focuses on analyzing semantic, syntactic, and ...

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Equivalence Scales for the Former West Germany [PDF]

open access: yes
Equivalence scales provide answers to questions like how much a household with four children needs to spend compared to a household with two children or how much a childless couple needs to spend compared to a single person household to attain the same ...

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Perturbative equivalent theorem in q-deformed dynamics

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2001
Corresponding to two ways of realizing the q-deformed Heisenberg algebra by the undeformed variables there are two q-perturbative Hamiltonians with the additional momentum-dependent interactions, one originates from the perturbative expansion of the potential, the other originates from that of the kinetic energy term.

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Evolution‐guided yeast complementation reveals functional differences in human PSPH variants

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Ancient genomes can help guide which human genetic variants are tested experimentally. This study applies that idea to PSPH, a gene involved in serine biosynthesis, and uses high‐throughput yeast complementation to compare variant function. The findings reveal measurable differences among selected alleles and illustrate the value of evolution‐guided ...
