Formal Verification of Rewriting Rules for Dynamic Fault Trees

2019
Dynamic Fault Trees (DFTs) model the failure behavior of systems dynamics. Several rewriting rules have been recently developed, which allow the simplification of DFTs prior to a formal analysis with tools such as the Storm model checker. To ascertain the soundness of the analysis, we propose to formally verify these rewriting rules using higher-order ...

Galileo: A Tool for Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis

2000
Galileo is a prototype software tool for dependability analysis of fault tolerant computer-based systems. Reliability models are specified using dynamic fault trees, which provide special constructs for modeling sequential failure modes in addition to standard combinatorial fault tree gates.

Dependability Evaluation with Dynamic Reliability Block Diagrams and Dynamic Fault Trees

IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, 2009
Dependability evaluation is an important often-mandatory step in designing and analyzing (critical) systems. Introducing control and/or computing devices to automate processes increases the system complexity, with an impact on the overall dependability.

Design of Dynamic Systems Based on Dynamic Fault Trees and Neural Networks

2006 IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering, 2006
Reliability design of static systems has been widely developed in recent years. Fault trees (FT), genetic algorithms (GA) and neural networks (NN) are among the most common methodologies used in such tasks. However, because of the complex behavior of dynamic systems, less attention has been paid on their design.

Fault diagnosis system based on Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis of power transformer

2012 9th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2012
Firstly, this research paper introduced the process of transformer fault diagnosis and the theory of DFTA and then we attempt to apply DFTA to the field of transformer faults diagnosis. By establishing the fault tree of transformer, a practical, easily-extended, interactive and self-learning enabled fault diagnosis system based on DFTA for transformer ...

Fault diagnostics of dynamic system operation using a fault tree based method

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2009
For conventional systems, their availability can be considerably improved by reducing the time taken to restore the system to the working state when faults occur. Fault identification can be a significant proportion of the time taken in the repair process.

A Numerical Analysis of Dynamic Fault Trees Based on Stochastic Bounds

2015
We present a numerical method based on stochastic bounds and computations of discrete distributions to get the transient reliability of a system described by a Dynamic Fault Tree. We show that the gates of the tree are associated to simple operators on the probability distributions of the time to failure.

QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC FAULT TREE

2011
The model of dynamic fault tree has been offered. The way of the calculation to distribution functions of the time allocation before coming the resulting event (failure function) on the known distribution function of the time allocation before approach base event has been ...
