Calculation of Dynamic Hardness by Molecular Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Based on the molecular-dynamic simulation of the impact of a solid ball on the surface of polycrystalline copper, a method for calculating the dynamic hardness of nanocrystalline materials is proposed.

Hardness Perception Based on Dynamic Stiffness in Tapping [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
A human can judge the hardness of an object based on the damped natural vibration caused by tapping the surface of the object using a fingertip. In this study, we investigated the influence of the dynamic characteristics of vibrations on the hardness ...

Dynamic Covalent Networks of Molecular Clusters for Hard and Impact‐Resistant Glass with Feasible Processability [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The polymeric organic glass suffers from the intrinsic tradeoffs among mechanical strengths, hardness, and impact resistance from their chain topologies, limiting their extensive applications.

Study on the transverse hardness distribution in strip-induced vibration of the Stand S4 cold rolling mill [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
To identify the root cause of the abnormal 186Hz vibration amplitude in Stand S4 of a cold rolling mill, this study analyzes the statistical characteristics of two distinct transverse hardness profiles across the strip width.

Dynamics of Uniaxial Hard Ellipsoids [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
We study the dynamics of monodisperse hard ellipsoids via a new event-driven molecular dynamics algorithm as a function of volume fraction $ϕ$ and aspect ratio $X_0$. We evaluate the translational $D_{trans}$ and the rotational $D_{rot}$ diffusion coefficient and the associated isodiffusivity lines in the $ϕ-X_0$ plane.

The hardness of quantum spin dynamics

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Recent experiments demonstrated quantum computational advantage in random circuit sampling and Gaussian boson sampling. However, it is unclear whether these experiments can lead to practical applications even after considerable research effort. On the other hand, simulating the quantum coherent dynamics of interacting spins has been considered as a ...

Dynamic Ensemble Algorithm Post-Selection Using Hardness-Aware Oracle

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Dynamic Ensemble Selection (DES) algorithms have obtained better performance in many tasks compared to monolithic classifiers and static ensembles. However, it is reasonable to assume that no DES algorithm is the optimal solution in different scenarios ...

Simulation of the dynamics of hard ellipsoids [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine, 2008
We study a system of uniaxial hard ellipsoids by molecular dynamics simulations, changing both the aspect-ratio X0 and the packing fraction PHI. We calculate the translational and rotational mean squared displacements, the translational and the rotational diffusion coefficients and the associated isodiffusivity lines in the PHI-X0 plane.
