HYSTERESIS IN THE DYNAMICS OF EMPLOYMENT
Metroeconomica, 2012ABSTRACTIn this paper, we derive a micro model of employment demand with hysteresis whereby firms can adjust along an intensive (employment) and an extensive (hours of work) margin. A mechanism of aggregation over heterogeneous firms is used to generate the corresponding aggregate dynamics.

Dynamics of a relay oscillator with hysteresis
2007 46th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2007The dynamics of a hysteretic relay oscillator with sinusoidal forcing is studied in this paper. Periodic excitation gives rise to periodic, quasiperiodic and chaotic responses. A Poincare map is introduced to facilitate mathematical analysis. Conditions on the amplitude and frequency of the forcing for the existence of periodic solutions have been ...

Hesitation phenomenon in dynamical hysteresis
Physical Review Letters, 1993The effect of the sweeping velocity on the hysteresis loop of a bistable system is examined in the case where the velocity is so large that the system is prevented from undergoing any transition during the forward sweep. The experiments, made on optical and electronic devices, evidence a dramatic instability (``hesitation'') of the return path of the ...

The dynamic model of magnetic hysteresis
2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015This paper presents the scalar dynamic magnetic hysteresis model based on the Preisach theory. The important role in this theory played hysteresis operator states. The changes of these operators' states are not immediate in the dynamic model but they are a function of time and parameter k representing the magnetic properties of the material.

Scaling law for dynamical hysteresis
Physical Review Letters, 1990A one-dimensional theory of dynamical hysteresis in periodically switched bistable systems is formulated. The predictions of the theory are tested and verified by experiments on a bistable semiconductor laser. We find that the increase of the area of the hysteresis loop scales as the two-thirds power of the switching frequency.

Dynamics of a simple hysteresis network
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002In order to approach the explication of rich dynamics from a large scale nonlinear network, this paper analyses a continuous time hysteresis network whose cross connection is uniform. This system has only two parameters. Applying an efficient piecewise linear technique for a binary hysteresis element, we can clarify the existence condition of periodic ...
