A quasi-dynamic nonlinear finite element model to investigate prosthetic interface stresses during walking for trans-tibial amputees [PDF]
Background. To predict the interface pressure between residual limb and prosthetic socket for trans-tibial amputees during walking.\ud \ud Methods. A quasi-dynamic finite element model was built based on the actual geometry of residual limb, internal ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dynamics of active liquid interfaces
Controlling interfaces of phase-separating fluid mixtures is key to the creation of diverse functional soft materials. Traditionally, this is accomplished with surface-modifying chemical agents. Using experiment and theory, we studied how mechanical activity shapes soft interfaces that separate an active and a passive fluid. Chaotic flows in the active

Experimental investigation of helicopter-ship dynamic interface [PDF]
DOTTORATOLe operazioni appontaggio su nave rappresentano uno dei compiti più impegnativi per i piloti di elicottero. In tali operazioni il campo di velocità sul ponte può divenire altamente complesso e turbolento influendo negativamente sulle ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Adding Dynamic Interfaces to Smalltalk. [PDF]
The concept of interfaces is central to object-oriented methodologies and is one of the most attractive features of Java and COM. Although Smalltalk always had interfaces implicitly, in Smalltalk interfaces are not first-class objects: they cannot be conversed with, referred to, or reflected upon.
