SEISMIC-IONOSPHERIC EFFECTS: RESULTS OF RADIO SOUNDINGS AT OBLIQUE INCIDENCE [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2020
Purpose: The object of the radio study is to investigate dynamic processes, which occurred over the People’s Republic of China following three moderate (magnitudes 5.9-6.6) earthquakes in Japan in 2018–2019.

On the Dynamics of the Ionosphere.

open access: yesProceedings of the Japan Academy, Series B, 1991
The conductivity elements, σ1(Pedersen) and σ2 (Hall) are derived, taking into account the coupling through collision between neutrals, ions and electrons. In the course of the above work the so-called generalized Ohm's law is obtained. By investigation of dynamo current it is found that the elements of conductivity tensor have their own phase.

High-latitude observations of impulse-driven ULF pulsations in the ionosphere and on the ground [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
International audienceWe report the simultaneous observation of 1.6?1.7 mHz pulsations in the ionospheric F-region with the CUTLASS bistatic HF radar and an HF Doppler sounder, on the ground with the IMAGE and SAMNET magnetometer arrays, and in the ...

Observation of periodic fluctuations in electron and ion temperatures at the low-latitude upper ionosphere by SROSS-C2 satellite [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2004
The electron and ion temperature at the low-latitude ionosphere exhibits a wide variety of fluctuations. Observations using SROSS-C2 satellite RPA payload during 1995–2000 provide an excellent opportunity to study the fluctuations in Te and Ti in the ...

Influence of strong solar proton events on propagation of radio signals in the VLF range in a high-latitude region

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2023
In this paper, we examine the features of RSDN-20 signal propagation in a high-latitude Earth–ionosphere waveguide during solar proton events, using computational experiment methods.

GPS-SBAS-Based Orbit Determination for Low Earth Orbiting Satellites

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2023
A space-based augmentation system (SBAS) provides real-time GNSS correction signals via geostationary satellites for near-ground GNSS users. To use the SBAS correction for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, the correction, especially the ionosphere ...

Digital Twin‐Based Optimization of Service Availability in LEO Mega Constellations Considering Handover Delays in Open RAN

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As non‐terrestrial networks (NTNs) become integral to future 6G systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and service continuity over low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations is essential. This work investigates the impact of open radio access network (RAN) functional splits on handover performance in NTNs, focusing on minimizing service ...

Tailoring Model‐Based Systems Engineering for Sub‐100 g PlanarSats: A Power‐First View Stack

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses how to apply model‐based systems engineering (MBSE) to ultrasmall planar satellites under severe power and resource constraints. PlanarSats are sub‐100‐gram spacecraft built as single printed‐circuit boards where the same surface must host both electronics and solar cells, so power generation, geometry, and component ...
